hey everybody! :kaopride:

i'm taking free requests for custom bgm! these are specifically for 1 minute songs of any genre and type.

my music is pretty heavily influenced by snes-era jrpgs, but i also like incorporating modern pop influence as well. i've uploaded some samples and i'll be embedding them below!

the tropical boss battle bgm and hometown sounds really nice,
and while it's free, and up to 3, I hope you can do 4?

because I need something in the Aqua Dungeon (water), Flame (fire dungeon),
Rock (sand desert dungeon) and Nature (Leaf Dungeon), in a nice way that
fit, with either the instruments used in "HomeTown".

while the dungeon is different than outside, maybe you can make something
fitting out of it? can be shorter than 1min if it can loop nicely.

As someone who has worked with @spillycup before I can attest for the fact that they work quick, are good to work with and deliver quality work in what they do. Decent ppl with good skills.

just to clarify, when i said "reference songs (up to 3)" i kinda meant for you to give me up to 3 songs you wanted your custom bgm to sound like, but i guess i could come up with 4 themed dungeon songs for your game if they were relatively simple. i'll send you a private message!

I do like what I hear there. Though I do wonder what kind of moods do you make? I do have some ideas for songs to request but the only one I can think of is one leitmotif that is mixed into different moods for a character.

Though that would technically be multiple songs. But I do ask what kind of moods do you do first before I send a PM. Given my game is basically a tragedy of sorts, it is curious to know.

i’ve worked on a lot of horror game soundtracks before. it was mostly creepy ambience and chase themes but i also had to make sad piano/orchestral pieces for some of the more emotional moments.
it would be super helpful though if you could give me a couple songs that sound like the music you want me to make!

I've been itching for a theme/[perhaps even Boss battle]/Credits roll song with a certain feel
(a Touch of sadness and darkness, Melancholy?. But also energetic or hopeful), but whatever experiments I've tried myself haven't come to anything.
It's for a SciFi + Fantasy game (and Cyberpunkish?)

Currently been Referencing a lot of Cyber-Rainforce's music.
So perhaps these:

Instruments... Various Electronica stuff, Piano, Strings, (Synthesized voice?)

Your music is really good! I'm nervous about doing this, but I'd like to request a track and see how it turns out!

Context: Title theme music. The game is an adventure in which the protagonist and a rival are racing to reach a lost temple that contains a powerful artefact, so I would like a sense of mystery and excitement, maybe a bit subdued but with a sense that of approaching something big and powerful.

Reference song: Satori Maiden (Touhou 11)

Instruments: Whatever you feel is appropriate, maybe strings and low woodwind?

Let me know if you feel this request is okay.

i just wanna mention one old tbs game on amiga that had a few neat songs, even with the very limited musik quality back then..

perhaps that gives you some inspiration..
(for example i preffer the part that starts at minute 9.50 from this video.. its kinda in the enemy phase)

I'd potentially be interested in a title screen theme (although it looks like the word "free" has already drawn a lot of requests haha). I'll hold off on details until I know you're not inundated with work already.

just got the dungeon themes, and they are really, really good,
especially the firetheme.

it might took a bit of time, but it doesn't care on my end that much,
but I'm really happy on the outcome of the themes.

Thank you alot @spillycup for making those themes :)

I can recommend "spillycup" if you want some nice themes,
if you need some, ask him nicely :)

and patience is the key, it's high quality delivered in .wav and .ogg
files ready to use.

context: it's for boss battles that take place in ancient temples where each character fights a long time rival.

References: Attack of the killer queen from Deltarune.
Two planets approach the roche limit from Kirby and the forgotten land.
A beautiful song from Nier:automata. Decisive battle 2 from Octopath traveler.

Preferred instruments: Violin, Bells, Piano.

This could probably be an entire thread, but it’s really interesting how replaying a game several years later can change how you relate to a character. I think Tidus from FFX got such a bad rap. I getchu. Completely different reaction as an adult now.
As you see, I still enjoy writing tutorials. Is there anything specific you want to see? (I know mapping and editing/resource making is usually popular, but those are very broad topics)
Well, I wanted to expand player battlers visually and now have 3 sheets and counting for each of my players party.
1. Regular sheet
2. The character has turned stone sheet.
3. Using potions sheet.

Technically the main hero has 4 since he starts with a wooden sword, and I felt that the battler should reflect that until he gets a metal one.

Right back to the RM game dev grind in about 15 minutes. :LZSexcite:
Days ago I gave someone the sage advice not to steer away from your main project or take up another one to abandon the first. After figuring a way that would save me years of development, I am forced to redo a lot of stuff on my own turf, near to remake half of what I have already made.
Somewhere down the line I must have crossed paths with bad karma.
