Closed. If you had already downloaded the sprite bases, you are free to use them in both commercial and non-commercial games.

Hi, welcome and thank you for sharing these.

I just wanted to clear up one thing - the sprites should not be saved with ! in Ace. Ordinarily, character images are displayed in the game about 6 pixels above the edge of the tile below. This is to make things like standing on the edge of a cliff look a little more natural. The ! shifts it down, so that it is flush. This is why it is commonly used with things like doors - so that the door character is not floating 6 pixels above the bottom of the house.

This works the same in both Ace and MV. So only the $ is needed in both for the individual sprite sheets.

Thanks for the clarification. It's been a while since I played with Ace, so it looks like I mixed up my info there. OP's been fixed up.

Just wanted to say I really like the look of these, its particularly nice you shared the base as well; much easier for people just starting out to experiment with spriting. The clown skeletons are awesome, made me think of Skelly  from Chrono Cross.

Thanks, Vox! I appreciate it. And yeah, I do hope that people will find the bases helpful.

The clowns are very much inspired by Skelly as well. Chrono Cross was one of my favorite childhood games, so when I wanted to try adding something over top of my basic skeleton, he popped right into my head and sold me on a clown theme.

these are super great! couple questions:

- are we allowed to use other preexisting sprite parts with these sprites? not the premade ones, but for example could i use looseleaf parts with the sprite bases?

- do 18+ games have a definite meaning in your mind? like, are you talking just about excessive violence/sexual content, or does swearing count too? because i don't plan for there to be any excessive violence or sexual content, but it'll probably fall into "M" rating for language, and i just want to make sure i'm compliant with your tou!

thank you!

Love those elf ears!  Can never have enough resource templates and bases.  It's always been difficult to find good elf sprites.  Frustrating having to re-use the same elf sprites every time the game calls for one.  Good job.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
