  1. Cannot run in IE 11, Error - your browser does not support Web Audio API. Is there a workaround to use Internet Explorer? They are nearly 25% 10% of the active browsers (correction by PrkchpsNaplsaws who pointed out a recent high 7% from W3). Still wondering if there is a workaround before I send a blanket statement that no IE support at all.
  2. iPhone iOS9 - no audio with default export. Is there a workaround?
  3. Why do we have to clearly indicate that the game was created using RPGMaker MV? This did not seem to be the case in ACE.
  4. Why do we have to add to our documentation “©2015 KADOKAWA CORPORATION./YOJI OJIMA”? This did not seem to be the case in ACE.
  5. I do not understand the license section titled "How to Apply These Terms to Your New Libraries, by Mr. Ty Coon.
  6. Are we required to disclose the source of our game under the LGPL v2 that the web version is released with?
Enhancement requests

  1. Help instructions in an ebook format or PDF for reference.
  2. Instructions for using the many included 3rd party JavaScript modules. Optionally insist that the coders use standard JavaScript comments so we can roll our own documentation with jsdoc.
  3. The default HTML output includes support to save the game as a web app but is missing a manifest file to load and keep the resources on the phone. That should (optionally) be auto-generated with the web content.
  4. Touch menu controls are a little too small for a phone
  5. I did not see mention anywhere that it was a pinch to simulate ESC on mobile
Comments

  1. Just browsing the iOS install, good choice of Cordova and instructions appear comprehensive, thanks
  2. Where are the saved games stored in a web version
  3. Would be nice to add our own resources to the character generator. I wanted a more modern look for the clothes.
  4. Be sure to read the entire supplemental game distribution terms!
  5. Gameplay seems turbocharged on some browsers
  6. The Script documentation appears much less comprehensive than the VX Ace version, for example, check out RPG::Event::page in VX Ace and then the same EventPage Class in RPGMaker MV.
    ACE move_speed - The movement speed (1: x8 slower, 2: x4 slower, 3: x2 slower, 4: normal, 5: x2 faster, 6: x4 faster).
MV move_speed - The movement speed
Seems to be the minimum documentation effort for the MV version with a bad choice of CSS causing more scrolling to read the same content. MV does use "boolean" instead of Ace docs using "truth" so that is an improvement.

IE 11 suports only a subset of HTML5 and is not developed anymore

so only change is to upgrade to a more modern browser (firefox is for free, chrome only costs your data)

No audio in ios:

The HTML5 version dosn't load the m4a files, don't know if bug or intendet.

to fix it copy over the ogg files in you audio folders after exporting, they work just fine.

Because eula

In rpg maker 2000 they forced you a splashscreen, i find it quite good that nowerdays they let you choose how to indicate the engine

Other engines do it too, unity for example charges extra if you want to remove the splashscreen indicating the engine

I can only really comment on this and speak for myself: I do intend to document all my plugins completely with the standardized jsdoc format. Some of them are already completely commented, others partially. It was just not top priority for launch vs. stability / bug fixes sadly, but I'm getting to it :)

Thanks Galenmereth, I have worked with other software where the bulk of the fun stuff was in many plugins and it was always hard to bring all of the documentation together to plan best how to use them. Videos on youtube are nice when it is something really graphic but it is always hard to find the exact bit of information when you need it, unless there is also a documentation to go with it. Docs that I could compare and write notes next to, not just a help text from within the software (which is already better than nothing).

Did we teleport back to the year 2010?  :D

W3 reports single digit user percentage for IE for 2015.  Besides, Microsoft is killing off Internet Explorer and finally putting all of us out of its misery...and besides, I.E. has never - ever - ever been friendly to developers of any kind.  I'm glad its gone :)

Don't forget that W3 reports only from people visiting their site... not all IE users visit the W3 website (I know my folks never did) while many chrome users apparently do.  That does not make a good global usage estimate. I lowered my average to 10 until I do better research but check out sites like

Sadly, folks who use university or Library or Café internet sites do not have the ability ot install Chrome or other browsers.  They are stuck with what they got.

Not ALL of the folks online use smart phones or mobile devices from self-owned systems.    Alas.   Guess my folks and nephews won't be able to play our demos and projects online.  :/

Wish there was a techie workaround for that!

unfortunately there is none

ie 11 simply doesn't have the capabillity and the only persons who could add it are not in this forum but sitting at microsoft

and microsoft stated "ie 11 doesn't get new features, upgrade to windows 10 and use edge"

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
