Hi @ all,

i'm new here and first i wanna say, that i am from germany and my english is bad - i slept in school. I hope you can understand me, i am sorry for that.

My matter is a simpel Questiion: Is it legal to use RPG Maker 2000/2003 sprites for game developing with another program as rpg maker? And commercial use?

Formely i made games with RPG Maker 2000 but now, i use the program Game Maker Studio for game developing. Currently i am making a commercial RPG template for GMS, Quasi will it be a RPG making extension for Game Maker Studio and when it is done, i will sell it. I can programming but i am not a good graphic artist! That's why i think the rm2k sprites are proper for my template.

If it is not legal: Can it be that it is legal, when i modify rm2k graphics strong enough?

I would be glad for experienced answers.

Thx,

No - in all cases, any and all RTP resources in and from all RPG Makers (including all edits of them, no matter how much you edit) can only be used in other RPG-Makers from Degica/Enterbrain and only if you own both makers involed.

It is expressivly forbidden to use RTP in any non-RM engine

You can check GameDevFort for non-RM licences of some of the resources

I just wanted to back up Andar and confirm that this is the official policy. RPG Maker resources can only be used in RPG Maker engines, regardless of how modified they are. :)

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
