I've been looking for places online to make a bit of money for bills and stuff, i think it would be interesting to help people with some rpgmaker projects but i'm not sure where to start really, My question basically is;

Is there a market for paid RPGMaker work, individual assets or full projects,
and where should i start looking for something like that?

If not any random commissioning advice would also be appreciated.

Yes there is.
Once you make 30 posts here, the "Classifieds" section will open up. That is what you want.

Your Deviantart doesn't contain anything that looks RPG-Makerish. Note that commissions here require that you own at least one program and are familiar with the resource standards/requirements. You need to show that you are able to provide assets in the correct format, rather than whatever format you make them in, leaving it up to the buyer to convert to RPG Maker requirements, which may not be possible.

Mostly asset creation, but some people will also do full projects.
Sorry, not much advice, because no one has commissioned me for anything, but I will tell you a little bit. Don't charge too much money, first of all. Ask other people about what a fair price would be. Second, make your commission thread/page look fancy and professional, but not so fancy that it detracts from the actual art. Third, show lots of examples of your work!

When you get access to the Classifieds area, you will see there is an Offers forum, with rules pinned at the top. One of the rules is that you MUST own the engine for which you are making resources. We've had too many people posting ads who had no idea what the requirements were.

If you think your 10 years of making resources for free for friends is enough to counter that, then you'll need to show it. Like I said - I didn't see anything on your page that indicates you've done any RPG Maker stuff.

I suggest you set up a workshop, or a thread in the Resources section, and do a bit of stuff for free for people to use. That'll let people see what you're capable of, while you're working your way to enter that area (you can't post commissions anywhere except in there).

@Shaz If someone owns VX Ace, can they accept commissions for a VX game, even if they don't own VX?

As VX and Ace use the same format, they would be able to. But they wouldn't be able to do edits of VX RTP on a commission basis.

In the Classfieds there is a section for Requests and another one for Offers.
- In requests developers are looking to hire artists, for a variety of things. Some can be small assets while others look for full projects. It depends.
- In offers, creators set up their shop and sell the type of assets they're willing to make.

Shaz is right, you can first open a free workshop in Resources, where you accept free commissions (of your choice).
It'll serve as advertisement of your skills before you open a Shop.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
