OK, so have have fiddled with making events and given up as I have not seen one I guess activate itself or do anything. Clearly I am lacking a core concept maybe...

What I am trying to do is upon start of the game; When player first sees character, eerie music starts playing. I essentially want this to work any time they enter this particular room and/or come back to it.

The second thing I am having trouble with is getting the character to go from one map to another map by walking on specific tile/tiles. I do not have any events written as I deleted them trying others and can not figure out how to get a event to play itself...if possible or if I need condition 001 = 1 variable, etc. I am clueless now...

Using RPG Maker VX Ace Windows 7 Steam Version

The way I mostly have attempted or as I can see is going to database/common events tab and creating them...

for what you want to do, you'll need map events, not common events. common events are either background functions checking values through the entire game, or special functions called by skills or items, or for advanced functions.

As a new user, I suggest you follow the link in my signature and start working through the tutorials linked there, that will help you get used to RPG Makers in the fastest way.

I read through those already reading on the forum. Done most the tutorials. I have not even heard or seen where map events are? Also how would map events do anything for starting music?

You can't tell me you have read through the tutorials and never heard of map events. They're described in the very first official tutorial on page 5 of the PDF (overview) and then their different uses (decorative, transfer, treasure, shops and more) are described in the next several parts of the official tutorials.
And READING the tutorials is NEVER enough, you need to open the editor and make the same tasks in your own tutorial project when the tutorial-PDFs ask you to do so.

And the events contain the commands to start any sound effect or background musik whenever they are triggered.

I have gone over this and some the others. I see no where on how to open up this map events overview.

Well...I see now by changing to event instead of map or region allows some things I was not used to. Although I would like to note in a future update of this software, there should be an easier or more ways to switch to this setting that are more obvious. I have not brung up anything yet saying map events and in no way does any of this pertain, show, or display that this is map events from that of which I have just done.

Page 5 of the very first tutorial (link above) describes the event types.

Page 2 of the second tutorial (linked above) describes the editor's layer selection, and page 15 describes how to add decorative map events, the simples form of map events.

I suggest that you work through these first, official tutorials until you got to part 9 at the very minimum before even starting to do anything else with the editor.

Here is the link for all the official tutorials:

EDIT:

I wrote the above before your second and third post, which also brings us to :

I am curious when if ever there will be doors that can be looked upon at a side angle leading to left or right room not up and down view.

Not in default, because that would not fit the choosen perspective for the RTP - the perspective, it's limitations and uses are explained in one of the tutorials on mapping - creating a side-obening door is theoretically possible (and you might request one if you want), but it would break the perspective and look rather strange in a regular map.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving!
