Why I haven't pursued art? Well I didn't for a long time because I thought I would be taking the spotlight away from my older sister... really I felt like I should strive for my own path. Plus my art skills then were, well kindergarten worthy... and I was 14.  So I quit up till now when I decided to tell the world what I really wanted to do. That was to become an author! With that I began to learn how to draw by watching youtube videos... over at least two years I vastly improved. No I am not an expert, and far from it... I continue to pursue some art and strive for knowledge of the written world. I don't do much computer art though, if I do it I usually trace a drawing I made with the good old pad. Only problem is I have to draw the drawing three times! One for the sketch, two for darkening, and three the computer tracing. I bet my methods are not that efficient either. So yes I would love it if we started an academy! I would participate and improve my art on the computer and hopefully learn a trick or two.

What is it about art that stops you from going into it? Is there anything that you would like to see if we push for it? Was there something about the previous academy that stopped you from participating? And other issues that we're not aware of.
See, I love to draw and do arts. I get compliments all the time on my works (you're so good, you should do it professionally, blah). I really want to be a writer, but I love looking at visual anything and just doing the arts.

My major problem is I cannot color my sketches - whether traditionally or digitally. I want some color in my arts, but I honestly don't know how to start or what to do. o.o I usually pick pixel art because it's easier for coloring, but it's hard do to not being able to "draw" the lines. o.o

If I could learn to color my arts, I would join more events where it would be useful. ^^

Coloring isn't hard, and like anything in art you won't get good at it until you start doing it, and that's a fact. You can find a whole flurry of coloring, color picking, palette making, etc tutorials online, especially on Deviantart. Here's a few different styles of coloring in a few different tutorials, if these don't help there's many more!

Really understanding colors: http://www.deviantart.com/art/The-Color-Tutorial-Part-1-186760922

Friendly shorter basics on coloring and good tips: http://www.deviantart.com/art/Color-Tutorial-370018373

If your using a mouse: http://coloring.deviantart.com/art/Coloring-With-a-Mouse-127005603

for painting big scenes: http://sandara.deviantart.com/art/Coloring-tutorial-01-124764595

Those are good starting points! And here's the tutorials section of DA: http://www.deviantart.com/resources/tutorials/?q=

Thanks Neverward!

The mouse one looks useful to me, but I don't have Photoshop. XD

Many photoshop tutorials work for GIMP, you just have to be willing to search a little harder for the right menu.

I will say that I love learning. I think that it does not depend on age

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
