But is the variable even defined in the context of the script? If the variable is defined locally, it will not be available for checking inside the script and cause a problem like you reported. Try it with a real number and see if the error remains.

creation(11) instead of the creation(X) you used before should be the correct command. If that still throws an error, please post screenshots of the event where you call the script and of the actor placeholder you want to change (#11 in this case) to allow us to check on the notetags you set on that actor.

"Hue" is usually a number between 0 and 255 - why did you set it to 264?

Hi and thank you for this exelent script, i've been trying to use it but the same thing keeps happening, so i try to make it as simple as i could, with a new game, autorun event that launchs the creation but I keep getting the line 493:NoMethod error
    ( http://postimg.org/image/8002zttun/ )

    event : http://postimg.org/image/pi3x70gvd/

    Script: http://pastebin.com/JbDZzA6k

the call is as simple as "creation(1)" since 001 is always in the party in a new project. Thanks in advance for your time

Did you remember to add the tags and make the needed edits to the character in the "Actors" tab.

e.g. adding needed tags to character in the note box; removing the left graphic containing the characters movements; removing the actors name.

If you need help with the tags here is a general look at it.

    Note:         hair init [style, ###]
             eyes init [shape, ###]
             gender [human]

The "Style" should be replaced with the name of the picture you want for the hair style.
The "Shape" should be replaced with the name of the picture you want for the eyes.
The "human" should be replaced by either male or female.
The "###" is the RGB number, it changes the color of the hair, or eyes.

    Example:

    hair init[stylish, 18]
    eyes init[intent, 50]
    gender[female]

Wasn't it just to give the player a default one?, im trying to launch the creation as soon as the game beggins... btw i've added hair init[stylish, 18]

    eyes init[intent, 50]

    gender[female]

textually to the character i wanted to modify, now i get a nil:class in line 491

well... i just noticed what was happening. i didn't give the actor [SIZE=14.3999996185303px]a graphic [/SIZE]acording to the script's name... i was naming it whatever i pleased instead of naming it "$hero1" or editing the script to process the different graphic's name... thank you for your time, and i hope this helps someone as well

Hi. I'm loving your script and I've already customized it for a game I'm making.

Everything works, I had errors, a lot, but corrected them all checking this post. But now I'm having a very weird problem.

Whenever I call "creation(1)" (1 is my character) the creation windows doesn't show up.

I tried creating a new project with no other scripts and copied everything from your composite, even the original script, and it doesn't work either. I even copied the NPC event that changes your character to see if I could clone everything but it just doesn't work, the creation(1) is skipped and only text and choices are shown.

Any ideas? Did I miss something?

Nevermind, I forgot to change the $Hero1 = ID in the script

But now I have the "Include" error as everyone else, I'll se what I can do.

Well, everyone, remember to change "$Hero1 = ID" in script and load AFTER Victor Engine.

    Problem Solved.

What is the part you can't understand? Do you know how to add scripts? Is there an error when you open the game / character creation scene?

I can help you, I spent a lot of time learning this script, but you have to be more specific.

If anyone is still here, I'm having trouble with the script edits to get the interface to show up. Everytime I call creation(x) on the actor's ID I want to edit I get this error message:

Script 'CharCreate' line 493: NoMethodError occured.

    undefined method 'include?' for nil:NilClass.

Also... I'm a bit dim when it comes to this type of stuff, so if anyone could include a few pictures in their explanation I would be really grateful.

Did you start a new game after adding the script, or did you load a game you'd started prior to adding the script and had saved?

This requires a new game and will not work with older save files.
