I tried to make a plugin as a practice project that would alert the player when he ate a specific item. After creating the plugin my program couldn't consume any item. When I created a completely new project, the person in that project couldn't consume any item. Has the plugin somehow corrupted more then just the specific projects files and can I somehow reset the program completely?

Sounds like it may not be an issue with the plugin but your database settings. Have you selected the box for it to be consumable? Also when do you have it allowed to happen? Always? Battlescreen? Menu?

I have checked the box for it to be consumable and it should be consumable anywhere. Consuming items used to work before I tried to create the plugin. Consuming items doesn't work for any item, not even for the default items (potion etc.) provided by the game.

So you're experiencing this even in a project that doesn't have your plugin in it?

no, unless you did something strange no plugin should be able to modify other files, especially not files of a different project.

This can only happen if you change the default database files - files you should never access at all, but some people still do.

so if this happens with a new project, then you should think back on what might have damaged the program files of the editor.

Where is the default database file located in? And is there a way for me to reset all the files?

reinstall the editor or (if on steam) have steam verify the program files

The default files are whereever you installed the editor, and if they were damaged without you doing that you need to find out what damaged them because other than user error that is most likely a hardware error.

I reinstalled the editor and had steam verify the program files. The problem still arises.

have you cleared the steam download cache? If that cache is damaged, verify and reinstalling through steam will always abort without error message.

if that is not the case, then the reinstallation WILL work, unless you as the user are doing something wrong. So please describe how you are trying to use the items, including which buttons you press and so on.

If Super Mario Rpg can have "Jump" be its own magic element, I guess its not too weird to have "Bite" and "Bark" elements.
