Hello, can anyone please help me with the next problem:

When someone else then me downloads my game and starts it the continue button is highlighted and they can press continue, then it gives this error. It is the same if they try to save the game when playing, thus making it impossible to play my game! I really could use some help fixing this as I have no clue what to do anymore...

And this .png does not exist and even if I just make a sprite sheet with that name it still gives me that error. But to be honest why the heck is the continue button highlighted when someone else tries to play it and it doesn't happen when I try to play it.

Indeed, there is a resource that your game expects (probably because of one of your plugins) that isn't present. The "%24" and "%25" strings represent escape strings from unusual characters (for example %20 is the spacebar) - see here for a possibly full list. So for example the file name you need to create should probably have a $ in place of the %24.

The best thing you can do if you can't figure out the exact way to create and use this file is usually to have your playtesters disable one plugin at a time (or one set of plugins at a time, if some can't run without others), save your game, and see if they can avoid this error. If that's the case, you may have found the plugin responsible (occasionally it will be a red herring because disabling the plugin will essentially skip other necessary behavior). Then you can run some tests using that plugin (if you still need that plugin) to see which lines are calling for a file and why you don't have one already there.

By the way, I think the game will default to "Continue" if a save file is present, or "New Game" instead if there is no save file present in your game's folder.

Thank for your comment I asked my tester to check it out. I hope it works with the new dummy files I created otherwise I need to ask him to pinpoint the plugin. Still, it is weird that this problem only exists when some other people play it and my tester has access to all my files and I never had/made the files that the system is asking for.

Another tester said this:
--
I just downloaded 3/13 version and got same error- img/characters/Package1a.png
happens when accessing save menu
--

Seems like he is missing some whole other file? Where does it try to get these files from?! I do use the saveinlocaldata, could it be that they have to save files from other games from RMMV on their local save file that it is trying to load giving an error that it is missing images? I have another friend that had no problem with saving but also never had any RMMV games installed on his computer. If this is the case I need to find another way to save files while protecting my game with enigma because it does not allow the game to save the .exe file if I use enigma.

The game looks in the game's folder on the user's local machine and goes into whichever folder is specified (by the plugin or by MV's base scripts) inside the "img" folder to find whatever images it needs. Often, plugin creators use a subfolder located somewhere inside "system" (the subfolder of "img") rather than just img, to help you keep your graphics organized. The graphic file needs to be located in the (sub)folder specified by the plugin/script, and it needs to have the exact name specified. If the file is missing, the plugin will usually throw an error like you are seeing (though there are ways for scripters to ask RMMV to handle it more gracefully).

If "enigma" is some sort of encryption resource you are using, there is a very good chance that it is at least partially responsible for your files not being directly accessible by the game (which would cause the errors your playtesters are seeing). I know very little about encryption; there are users on this forum that know a lot.

It seems like you're doing all the right things to try to track these problems down, but they take a lot of time and effort to figure out sometimes, and often it will be extremely difficult unless someone who is code-literate looks through your plugins to find the answer.

Well, the head breaker is why is it asking for files that never existed? My tester has all the files that are needed, how did the system come up with this error. I asked the tester to do some things that might help. If I get any progress with him I will report back on this thread. If still, someone has the solution I would love to hear it. Testing this out till you find it is such a pain.

Alright, the issue got solved, the answer was indeed the saveinlocaldate.js file that was trying to open save files not connected to my game. Kinda weird it does that but maybe logical 2 because more people use that plugin and testers might have a save file in there local data app. Guess the js file is missing a line in the code to let it recognize save files that are only linked to your game or something because the files that the game was asking for have never been made by me.

Thank you for the info and help @Wavelength I appreciate it.
