control switch and self switch?

Okay again(i thought i fix this problem already)im doing a cutscene from two different maps but in order to trigger the cutscene/events on 1st map

you'll need to access/trigger the cutscene first on the 2nd map this is what i did:

this is the events on the 2nd map that needs to be trigger/access 1st

which is no problem for me but eh problem is:

this, my actor doesnt move after i transfer here and i cant get close

to event to trigger it

is it possible to turn on the control switch between the 2 maps?or i done something wrong with self switch and control switches

i've done tutorials already but i dont find any that can help me with this

General switches are the same throughout the game, no matter where the player is - and self-switches are event-specific.


Nothing in the events you displayed can stop the player from moving - the error has to be somewhere else.


One question:


Can the player turn without moving?


if yes, the problem is with the passability of the tiles where the payer stands after the transfer. In this case, give us a screenshot of the tileset definition in the database, with the floor tile displayed.


if not, then there is an event with trigger=autorun somewhere on the map that blocks player input. Check all other events until you've found it.

nope the tile passage is alright and i dont have any autorun trigger on those maps anyway thanks for your help i figured it out i think i used control switch 1 before somewhere but i cant find it because

everytime i use it on an event my character cant move now i change it to control switch 5 and everythings alright i just change the name of control switch 1 on "dont use" so i wont use it anymore

If you want a control switch to turn on when you go to a particular map, try modifying all Transfer Events which move the party onto that map.  

Have each event call a Common Event to do the processing you want, and that should do what you want.

This way the player does not need to move to execute your desired event.

Its already fixed, the problem is i used the control switch 1 somewhere i cant remember and used it again on different event anyway this

Could be in a script. In fact VERY likely that it's a script, if you add scripts without going through to check for customization options. I haven't heard of it making your player stop though.


Also check common events for something set to Autorun and with that switch as the condition. Even an event (or common event) with NO COMMANDS will stop the player dead in his tracks if it's activated and the trigger is autorun. People sometimes set this up just for an animated event, thinking it needs to be autorun when it doesn't.


I will close it for you since you've found a workaround, but it's not wise to just ignore a problem - better to get to the root of it so you KNOW why it happened, and know how to avoid it in future.
