control switches?

ok im trying to make an event where when the first time i visit a town a different cutscene will appear then i enter the pub and talk to certain actor then after a few dialogue the actor leaves the pub 

and then i follow him outside il see him walking and leaving the town. my problem is the second event on the town doesnt show up i tried using condition control switched but its end up being my actor freeze or

the 2nd scene of an actor/npc leaving the town doesnt appear why?

When asking for event help, you should post screen shots of your event pages.

It sounds like you're trying to run a autorun event, without turning of the switch that triggers the autorun event, at the end of that event(because if the switch is left on, it creates a neverending loop, which inturn freezes the char/game).

You should choose better names for your switches, calling them "switch A" will only provide confusion. Better name it for what it does, like "XYZ walks away" or so.

Also, please provide the screenshots for all pages - higher page numbers have priority, and the pages you displayed above won't be processed if the page-2-s of those events have their conditions fulfilled.

You should go back to the tutorials and work on tutorials for switches and variables before continuing - follow the link in my signatures to get to the most important tutorials, then continue to Grandmadeb's list of venting tutorials.

i tried renaming the control switch A and still im freezing after the event inside the pub and the 2nd pages of my events is just to turn on the self switch and close those event its completely blank

what im doing is like on 1st map the first time i visit there will trigger a cutscen then after i meet some npc/actor on different map when i comeback to 1st map a new cutscene will appear

ok i made it work(im not really sure how but i just changed the control switch from 1 to 4 and it work)anyway thanks guys this topic can be lock now thanks

The names of the general switches have absolutely NO function, they are only there for your (human) convenience, the computer ignores them. So of course changing the name has done nothing for the event logic.


However, it would have been easy for you to confuse "self-switch A" with a general switch named "switch A", and that would have made your logic wrong because they are completely different switches.

There are custom scripts that use switches as well, whenever you add a script you have to check whether it reserves some switches and variables for its own usage.
And you might have forgotten some test with a switch from earlier in your project work, that's why you should always name switches and variables the first time you use them.


Because if changing from one switch to another solved the problem, then either you had used that first switch already somewhere, or you had choosen the wrong switches in part of your current event before.


That's a fact, because otherwise all switches are identical - if you remember that previous use or that previous installed script or not doesn't change the facts...

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:

Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
