I'm trying to make a game where you can split the party to deal with different puzzles, because each party member has a different ability.  Like, one member is bigger than the others, and can easily push boxes or hold heavy stuff that the others can't.

What I need is a script that would let the player choose which party member to play as, go solo for a bit to do that part of the puzzle, and then switch to another character, leaving the first one there until they are all called back to continue in the dungeon.  Preferably, there would be little to no script work on my end, because I don't know how to do it myself.

I don't have any of money, but if there's something you'd like in return that I can do, such as sprites or artwork, or even just fanart of something, not specifically rpgmaker related, I can do that.

example of the kind of puzzles and things we want to do :

It's very much just an example.  But I hope it gets what I want to do across?

In this example, you'd have to focus on Purple for a bit, to cut the rock.

Then Green and Blue go to their respective buttons.

Red pushes the rock under the door when it lifts, so that it won't close completely.

Regroup the party, and continue onward.

If more clarification is needed on something in this, please tell me.

Tsukihime's Party Manager can do this easily.

It's a script which lets you change between different parties during the game. With the addons of that script, you can even interact with your other parties.

Oww, I'm late! *-*

So you want to be able to leave the other party members lying around while only 1 moves with you, and if you switch members, the others will remain in the position (visible on the map) that they are left at until you choose to regroup?

You could do this with eventing (even if you use Hime's you would still need to event to leave the "characters" in their laast position anyway AFAIK).

You could make blank events on the map, 1 for each playable character. Then upon activation of the single member control, you would pick which member to control (maybe just use the party leader then just use formation command to switch members), switch followers to off, then set the corresponding events for each of the other members to use the correct graphics and put them in place.

Then when you switch players, you need to set the graphic for the event corresponding to the old player, put that in your location then remove the event corresponding to the new player and transfer your player to that location.

Take note that this approach will only still let you control one member at a time. If you need to control more members using different buttons, that will take a longer route and you'd probably need a keyboard script to have access to full keyboard for simultaneous control purposes.

Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
