Silly question now right... how hard is it roughly to convert a script that was used in VXAce to work with MV? is it something you have to redo the whole thing etc, im not gonna lye i have done small scripting in the past little slots to adjust things but never wrote a whole script, i have a script i love that was made by a user called Venka, it was a crafting, cooking, mining, fishing, alchemy script that would allow you to level up when doing one of these things and had a crafting screen for making new weapons etc, I would love to bring this script back alive with Venkas permission etc who i will contact, but would like to know more information first.

Here is a link to the original thread and work by Venka, : Crafting Script v.3.8 by Venka
The script was last updated February 2015
And Venka has not been active on there since March 2015

if anyone could shine some light my way that would be amazing as i know Venka has not been seen for a while so i am not sure if any more updates or a MV version will be made.

Thanks

Programming has two basic steps - program design (deciding on the logic and formats and what will happen) and implementation (turning the logic into program code).

Changing the language means that the second step has to be redone completely, but the data from the first step can be used - if it's available.

So for the original scripter, converting a script is about half the work of writing it.

For anyone else (that means people who have to understand the script first and retrace the original logic) it's less work to write a new script.

Ok i think i got you, so it would be easier for me to get some knowledge in me and write a whole new script along the same lines, but adding my own touch so its not classed as copying, I think i got you :D

Much appreciated, i spend way to much time making icons, sprites and tile sets etc, i think its time i learnt something bigger and done scripts :D

Thanks for your time.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
