I noticed that when I tried to copy more than one map at a time (usually done by holding Shift and clicking on them) that the program wouldn't let me.

Is there a way to copy/paste multiple map files at a time?

Thank you!  :)

I assume there's no way to do it?

There's gotta be a way. It's such a simple command and it saves so much trouble.

No, you can't copy multiple maps in the editor.

Such a command might seem simple to you, but it has a lot more complications internally (like checking IDs for the maps, those are non-linear) - and copying multiple maps isn't usefull in most cases anyway, so I doubt such a feature would ever being added just to spare the few seconds you need to copy them one after another.

If you can give us a better description why you would need such a feature - there are some limited ways to circumvent that restriction, but I need to know what you want to achieve to know if you can use them...

I wanted to create a Dark World in my game, kind of like Link To The Past, where it's almost identical to the normal world but with different textures.

Instead of copying and pasting every single map, which would take a LONG time, I was hoping to copy/paste all the maps and then do the minor tweaks from there.

Also, "spare a few seconds"? I've tried copy/pasting every single map and it takes a lot more time than a "few seconds".

well, you should have already known from the beginning that you would need them, so you should have duplicated them right away... + you will only be editing them 1 by 1 anyway...

One question - how do you copy the maps?

Right-click on the mapname in the lower left list - click "copy" - rightclick there again - click "paste" - finished.

That's two or three seconds in my counting...

Yea, I found his post confusing as well, It's just standard PC copy/past mechanics, so making duplicate maps are easy as hell.

Simply find your maps in the "Data" folder and shift click them or drag over them, ctrl c and ctrl v and you've just recreated all your maps.

Make sure your game is closed and the map numbers won't overwrite yours.

btw, doesn't the MapInfo's file also contain some data about the maps?

You may indeed have to create blank maps, save and close the editor, replace those blank maps with the copies.

Your idea would work if they wanted to copy the maps from one project into another. However, Trianglon is trying to copy the maps from the same project to be pasted within the same project, which would give the duplicates new Map IDs.

The Map IDs are stored in MapInfos objects, not in the actual map itself. Thus my suggestion:

You may indeed have to create blank maps, save and close the editor, replace those blank maps with the copies.
Lemme know if it works.

Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
