Here's a little bust whip I have been practicing on with Oceaniqo. He's been giving me some tips and so far it's looking amazing... least I think so.

annnd something I drew before that lesson. Working with grey scale!

DOOOOOBAY!   Dude That is considerably better than you've done before! You've improved so much. Feel proud!

What's amazing is that in showing you stuff, I myself learned stuff too!  it's a win-win!

Hmm, your lack of confidence in your drawing is coming through loud and clear with the sketchiness of your lines and it's not doing your work any favors. It's really hard to do when you're at this point but you need to stay away from the short scratches and try for long uninterrupted strokes. The only thing that got me away from the short sketchy lines was when I lost my pencil and had only a pen to draw with for a while. I learned that the lines were actually easier to control the longer and looser I made them and I learned how to work around a bad line instead of trying over and over again to fix it until the paper wore out. Maybe doing something like that on purpose would help you?

I really like how you're not afraid to do pictures with multiple people in them and that you're not shying away from scenes that are difficult. Please, keep it up!

Your advice is sage!

Boooy it's been awhile!

I have not done any digital arts, but have been trying at straight lines like you said sharm!

Soooooo lets look at some of my favorite attempts, towards the best one....and a little something from last year that I dug up!

It's a cute little drawing of when she had wings. Kinda didn't continue down that road due to some story issues.

Spoiler

Annd now something a bit more recent, I tried to draw a chibi of a character named Dahlia and some kid... with straighter pen lines. A retrace of an old drawing that I thought was cute as well!

Spoiler

Now something I drew well just today. I was surprised to see how the straight lines just starting going without any force, now that doesnt mean there were a few sketchy marks inbetween! I'm getting there I think!

Spoiler

Not finished I lost vision of where it was going....

And someone miiiiiiight recognize this fellow!

I say... That looks like a certain burly castle guard... out of uniform, and with his hair let down.
His resemblance to another certain fellow is... uncanny.

I'd suggest you use less small lines and try for more flowing, longer ones.  It won't be easy, but the result will be worth it!  Try to use as little (longer!) lines as possible.

You're getting better! Well done all around I'd say!

Thank you!

I went ahead and tried that down here, drew an back kinda angled head. As if she were looking behind her, chose this particular character due to her well many long lines...the hair, ribbon, bag strap, belt and so on were perfect for line practice. Wouldnt say it went perfect, but I am happy with how the drawing looks.... going to continue practicing this... if anyone wants me to draw a character of theirs let me know it'd be good for practice. And no promises on what style or how they will be drawn.

Spoiler

annnd Skeleton Gif!

and ONE pose for the first attack, soo no gif:

Trying to make a battler, so far It's just been a little trouble with the cape. He is supposed to look like the RTP skeleton for Ace.

I must say, you definitely have improved your spriting.  However, the shoulder shrug looks to be too much so. The stray pixels look a bit weird. Also there are stray pixels on the bottom of the red thing.

I know you're a beginner, but it's the little things that will set you apart from the rest. :)

@Demon God Thank you! And sure thing I'll get to drawing that sometime today, probably about the time I start working on skellys cape.

Not bad.  Interesting how you named the skeleton after the Chrono Cross character! :p

@Iron thanks! Ohhh there's a Chrono Cross character named skelly : O!!!?

Yeeah I didn't know... I never played Chrono Cross in full, just Chrono Trigger. I just thought it was a cute nickname skeleton...skelly. I got to to work on his cape sometime it is a bit choppy I think, or just get rid of it save the stress.

@Iron true!

I thought I would not have it in me to actually draw you Demon God...but it turns out...well

This happened

Spoiler

I did a google search on the character to see some of his fuller designs! His hair and overall design was fun to draw! :D Just noticed some portions are off a bit... but I am still pretty darn happy with how it turned out.

and there hasn't been any realism... but... realism attempt! On an old Dryad character of mine I need to find my charcol... mechanical pencil shading isn't working out too great.

Keep this general rule of thumb in mind for hands: An average being's hands are usually about as big as his or her face.  Try it with your own.  Hands are the bane of many an artist, including myself. They're not easy to master, but once you do...  Your characters will be able to express themselves in ways previously unimaginable.

@Project CROSS thank you! I think I've about given up on that skeleton I've bit off more than I can chew at the moment

@Iron thanks for the advice : D

Here I've been practicing different views of heads, that's about all I have done of recent.

Used good old persaios for practice as I am familiar with his design. Clean lines was not the goal here.
