"Could not load GameFont"

I tried to replace the font in my MV game by editing the gamefont.css file, and it gave me an error saying "Could not load GameFont". Replaced the src line how it was before, and still not working. Not using Yanfly message core or anything like that.

Is the font file itself (the .TTF or whatever) located in the fonts folders of your game?

Yes. I also restored the file to point at the included font, to the same result.

Ended up fixing it by creating a new project and transferring the necessary files.
