I'm new to RPG Maker and I have a few questions:

Is there a way to create a HUD that would display character's name, picture, items equipped, etc? Also is there a way to have the HUD change based upon equipped items (example: it takes 2 MP to summon an equipped magic skill, the HUD will show equipped magic skill and the MP bar will have 2 of given MP colored differently to represent it's cost, when in battle)

Is there a way to create an item/monster system? each with their own levels that affect the intensity of the item or monster? (example: having a level 1 potion, level 2 potion; level 1 monster, level 2 monster)
Also, can these items gain levels or experience? (using a sword/monster x number of times increases it's level)
Also, can these items/monsters have different affects? (potion A can heal or increase defense stat; monster X has attack 1 or 2 depending on summon/use)

Is there a way to create a crafting system for items/monsters? (2 parts of this and 1 part of that creates item this, or monster that) These created and equipped items/monsters can then be used in battle.
Also, can you create a item/monster breaking system? (using a sword/monster x number of times breaks it and you have to then recreate it or use it's parts)

Can you add in additional items/monsters later on through updates? Add in towns, NPCs, etc?

Thanks a lot for any direction or answers.

All of the things you asked for are possible. HUD is possible either through javascript or through eventing, the level items are possible and it's all a matter of naming, leveling up monsters are possible through Yanfly's Enemy level plugin, crafting system is possible as well. Before you ask any more questions, it would be better to get acquainted with the engine a little. I don't mean to be rude. Oftentimes the second question is "How do I do that?" And I'm not going to teach that to a total beginner, since the instructive value of that would be zero.

As for additional items, monsters etc., you can. Adding towns and npc is completely fine, adding items, actors and monsters will force the player to start a new game, because the savefiles will be incompatible.

Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
