RPG Maker Forums

Hello, everyone! I'm a somewhat new user of MV, and during my period of just kinda testing out a game idea I have, I came across something that kinda stumped me:
My game is centered around food and cooking, and so I want the battle system to reflect that. The main character in essence, summons food characters to fight, and collects ingredients from monsters in order to craft more food characters.

What I had in mind before, was some kind of "crafting battle system" where each food character had to be manually created before being placed on the field, but I felt that might make battles drag out too long, especially when I had 2 or more (depending on game progression) waves or of enemies coming forth per battle. That just didn't fit the kind of game flow I wanted to have.
For now, I found a plug-in that would implement a "skills cost items" mechanic, which I thought would help with the crafting part, but otherwise it would just be the regular default battle system, which I'm not sure I want.

TL;DR: If anyone had any ideas on how to make an interesting battle system based around the concepts of crafting the characters you use to fight with in battle, it would be extremely helpful! I apologize in advance if this isn't in the right topic or anything like that, I'm still pretty new to the forums.
Thanks!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
