@Shablo

Valykrie Stories is actual spelled Valkyrie Stories, Which was made by Hanzo Kimura. He was one one the key people who advised me on my first real RPG Maker Project. Hanzo quit VS to move onto his new project Eternals for Ace and also it was pretty much a one man show for the last year or two it was being made. That is why several members will take the strain off that usually kills a "one person" project and that is the main reason that 90% of the fail. I still couldn't interest you in a part time spot could I because I really like your work.

@Lokana Got your pm and I am looking at you work. Will get back to asap.

The others will be replied to in pms.

Posted to update on New Team Positions

NEW Internship (?)

I have had a few requests from members who are starting out or inexperienced in RPG Maker and everyone has to start somewhere.

In response to this I am going to open up a few "Internship" positions.

I am not going to say how many of these spots there will be, but they will go to the members I believe will stay with the team for the long term and move into different roles.

Also beginning in July, I will start awarding the positions and things will begin!

Actually, he quit VS because of his reliance on too many people. And yes, I misspelled it. It happens.

Eternals is a 1 man show. He's doing it right this time.

Unless you own a STUDIO in an office building, work together in-person, and you're paying your team members, you are not a studio. You're a regular amateur team like everyone else.

The upcoming game Retro City Rampage (for PS3/Xbox360 and PC) was a one man programming and " regular amateur team" made the whole game now it has Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo behind it.

The way games are being made commercial and share/freeware is changing everyday, I am not doing this topic to discuss what is or isn't a game Studio or game team. YOur opinion is your opinion. Happy gaming!

and in doesn't HAVE to be in an office building.

Also Please don't spam the topic unless your interested in joining.

Yeah, but they didn't claim to be a "Studio" they merely said they were a team. I'm saying don't call your toy car a NASCAR participant. Also, my post was not spam. It was constructive in the sense of asking you to clarify or update your statements so they are honest and not full of fluff.

No one applying has had an issue, so your comment has been noted. Thanks.

Also in regard to your post I started a topic to discuss what is or isn't a studio.

You missed, "In my opinion,"

You seem to post strongly opinonated posts, as I'm pretty sure this isn't the first I've read like this. Is there a reason why? Are you normally this combative, or do you feel like you are being misrepresented?

@Benedict At first when I read your reply I thought you were directing the reply to the qoute at me so I answered with this.

I am trying to change that very notion at its core and yes I did miss the in your opinion part. Do you work in public relations? Cause I think you make a good Studio Public Relations manager!! (Benedict)

Then I went back and reread it and wasn't sure. So to end the "Studio" question.

regular amateur??

20+ People working toward one goal=Making good games (You want games don't you?)

3 different Teams dedicated to one project each

5+ People that Float between teams assisting with tasks

Studio Website with Meetings and updates

6 projects

As the 6 projects complete Studio will start on at least one commercial one.
I was hoping that this thread would stick to a recruitment topic and not turn into a studio discussion but it already has be littered up a lot.

No, no. You didn't miss it. I was saying that Reynard Frost could have worded his post a little better. You are more than welcome, in my opinion, to call yourself a Studio.

Now I really do want you for the studio's PR manager!

For other uses, see Studio (disambiguation).

Look up studio in Wiktionary, the free dictionary.

A studio is an artist's or worker's workroom, or the catchall term for an artist and his or her employees who work within that studio. This can be for the purpose of architecture, painting, pottery (ceramics), sculpture, scrapbooking, photography, graphic design, filmmaking, animation, radio or television production broadcasting or the making of music. The term is also used for the workroom of dancers, often specified to dance studio.

The word studio is derived from the Italian: studio, from Latin: studium, from studere, meaning to study or zeal.

The French term for studio, atelier, in addition to designating an artist's studio is used to characterize the studio of a fashion designer. Atelier also has the connotation of being the home of an alchemist or wizard.

Do you have a workroom where you and your employees work within? Do you pay your teammates, thus making them employees? (And hey, no need for them to be employees, that's not that big a deal as long as they're dedicated.) If not, then you are creating a game development team, not a studio. You're still free to call it a studio, but you will be using the term improperly.

I'm not being misrepresented, the things I "post strongly opinionated posts" about often are. I didn't miss "in my opinion" because well, of course it is my opinion. That's a given. Whose else would it be?

In the grand scheme of things, no, this doesn't matter. This is a moot point to argue. However, I just wanted to make it known that what he is doing is using the term to add weight to what he is attempting, and make it seem more prestigious than it is. Having worked at several studios professionally, I dislike seeing the term used so flippantly. But I wish you luck nonetheless, and I hope that your projects become well known enough that your Zelda projects will warrant a Cease and Desist letter from Nintendo. (Oh the buzz that will generate!)

In any case, good luck and have fun. That's all that really matters, right?

That's a good point, and it actually serves both of our interests well. Your point of "who's else would it be" is implied and is 100% logical, while my opinion of posting so that the reader can better comprehend is also valid. A tie, then!

In the end, it all comes down to marketing. People have been trying to make their smaller companies look larger for years. It's not uncommon, and it's been an accepted practice for a long, long time. The title bestowed upon me by the company I work for is misleading (I'm a National Technical Consultant for Canada's largest courier company) as I am actually employed by the company, but I still get questions about it regularly. In business, it's all about doing your homework, and knowing the company behind the product you are purchasing.

But I wish you luck nonetheless, and I hope that your projects become well known enough that your Zelda projects will warrant a Cease and Desist letter from Nintendo. (Oh the buzz that will generate!) In any case, good luck and have fun. That's all that really matters, right?
Can you imagine? LOL.

Do you seriously have 7 projects on the go at once? I'd rather see you focus on one good project than 7 terrible looking ones. You might have some success.

Good luck!

no not seven. Six. and each is at a deifferent stage in development. One especially is in the pre-planning stage.

"I have all six open on my desktop working on all of them right now at the same time!"-seriously not.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
