i was just wondering if there was a smooth way of using a mix of animations and transferring the player to mimic a "warp" scene to another area (on the same map.)

When I tried making my own event for that, the character appeared 'roughly' (Can't explain it well, sorry!)

This is my current event (ignore the close message box lol)

I want to make a 'smooth' transition when the character warps to another area on the same map.

From what I've seen, I've created a scene where the character just appears once the animation has taken place, which is rough for the eyes.

Is there some sort of way to create a fading? Or any smoother way to make this transition?

If you go iinto the part where you can specify a move route, there is an option to change opacity over a certain number of frames. That may work.

Opacity in a move route does not give you a number of frames. It's immediate. So to get a fadeout, you'd have to add several Change Opacity commands to lower and lower values (or higher and higher for the fadein), with brief waits in between. Or use this

I would do something like this (using pseudocode only - you'll have to figure out what the correct commands are, but I know they're there)

Show animation (warp away from point) - do not check the wait for complete buttonWait X Frames (X will be half the frames used by the animation)Set Move Route (Player): Change Opacity to 0Wait X Frames (X will be half the frames used by the animation)Transfer Player to new point with or without a fadeShow Animation (warp to point) - do not check the wait for complete buttonWait X Frames (X will be half the frames used by the animation)Set Move Route (Player): Change Opacity to 255This will play the animation, and the player will disappear halfway through. The animation will then end, you'll go to the new area on the map, an animation will play again and half way through the character will reappear. You could add a wait immediately before and after the Transfer Player, if you want to see the "empty" map before/after the player teleports.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such?
