Hi, everyone. Just as the title shown, I wanna know how you create your own battlers? I mean enemy battler.

The picture in the spoiler is my project. The female battler is my artwork, drawn on my iPad, resized, convert into png image, import to manager resources and create an enemy for my game. Any idea that I can improve my work?

Thank you.

You have the basic idea. thats literally all a battler is is a static png image that shows animations over top of it.

You might be able to get some more life out of it with Yanflys battle core and action sequence packs.

Or the animated sideview battlers.

It looks good. The main thing I see is that the lines are very sketchy so you might want to clean them up, unless that was what you were going for. If you want to add shading as well, that's optional. Some styles have it, others don't.

As other people mentioned, the drawing is a bit rough around the edges, but if you plan to draw everything else in that style [replacing the RTP graphics already there] you'll be fine. I would recommend making the graphic smaller, if only because the size difference between it and the player graphics is pretty big.

One thing I'd recommend is adding a shadow of some sort under the battler, as right now there isn't much of a connection between it and the ground. Either a black/dark grey one or a translucent one [which could be done by making the shadow on a new layer and then making that layer's alpha value a bit less than 1; a transparent .png should be able to deal with that fine] would work.

@Feenick Yup, I really want to create my own battlers but for enemy right now. I added the shadow with low-opacity black color just as to get lil' transparent. Thanks.

@HexMozart88 Sketchy line is my favorite type but some people want it better without sketch. I erased some sketchy line and excessive colors and draw her legs better than before. I'll resize and convert it to png later. Thanks too.

@Skunk I really want the enemy battler move like floating, breathing and shaken when hit. Wish I can learn scripting. Yup, I watched how Yanfly battle core works and I like it.....but do I need permission from him/her if I wanna use it?

It depends on the plugin but not typically, just give the credit for the creator of what it is you are using.

some resources require permission but if it is in a public setting and accessible without paying first aka not a zip file.

chances are all you need to do is offer credit to the creator.

Wait. How do I offer credit to them?

either in some rolling credits or a notefile you can include within your game file to show where you got your music/graphics/battlers/etc.

Im sure there are several ways to credit them.

Normally, you would just mention their name in your credits at the end of the game, I believe.

Not with Yanfly, I don't think. I'm pretty sure all they ask is if you're making a commercial game, to send them a copy, and as mentioned, credit them.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
