I'm probably not the first to ask this, but I can't find an answer anywhere else.

I'm trying to make a game using yami's battle symphony to show battles from the side. I was wondering how to add in my own custom sprite sheets, specifically how to position the sprites on the sheet and what actions needs to be sprited (i.e. idle Animations, Death/Victory animations)

I'd also like to know the minimum amount of individual sprites needed on the sheet. (I'm making my own character and enemy sprites, so there's gonna be a lot of them) I'd be very grateful for the information.

I've moved this thread to RGSSx Script Support. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

Can you please provide a link to the thread or blog post where you originally downloaded the script? There may be clues there that will state what you need. Besides that, we can't really answer your question unless you either provide a link to the script, or have personal knowledge of it.

AFAIK, Yami's script comes with a manual... and there's also somebody here who posted a thread here about how to set-up that script, so search for it...

Battle Symphony supports several different sprite sheet formats (default, holder, and one or two more that I don't remember are supported by addon-scripts).

So you not only need to give us a link to the script you're using, you also need to tell us which of the sprite formats you need help with.

the link I got it at was here:

by using it, I've figured out how to work the script using some of the stock sprites, but i want to know how to craft my own sprite sheet to use.
Basically, you open Photoshop or Gimp or something similiar, make one picture for each required pose/position and then copy all needed pictures together on one sheet.

If you want more details (like how many pictures you need, what poses there are and so on), then you have to tell us WHICH spritesheets you're planning to do.

Default spritesheets need twelve pictures, three animations in one of each of the four directions.

Holder Battlesheets need fifty-two pictures, four animations in each of the thirteen poses for his sideview battlers

Kaduki and 8D still have other formats, requiring different pictures.

You need to tell us what kind of spritesheet you want to make before we can help you!

Attach an example of the battlesheet you plan to use.
We need to know the format you want, and if you can't name the format then give us an example of a battlesheet you have from the web.

Or give us a list of the add-on-scripts you've installed with Symphony. We can also detect the correct format from that list, because each format needs a different add-on. And you won't be able to use battlesheets without the correct add-on script.
