So how do I create my own tileset? I know I need to draw it, however the coding part is what I need help with, as I don’t know how to make the coding to do connecting tiles like grass and roof tiles and animated tiles like water

I recommend Pyxel Edit for all your tileset making means. It has a free version (though the full version is totally worth it) and it makes tileset making 100 times easier.

As for actually formatting them, just export the rtp tilesets and see the dimensions you need to use.

There's no code involved. If you do the layout right, it'll work. Take a look at the section about tilesets in the help file, it'll tell you all about how to format it. If you're still confused after, you can ask us then. One thing that really helped me was to make a dummy auto tile with different colors for the different corners and edges. Then if my understanding was wrong and it looked messed up, I could more easily see why.
