Hello!

I am coming close to releasing my game and I want to tidy it up by making a few of my plugins have there own Scene rather than the evented choices I currently have.

I followed this guide
https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/inde...l-understand-how-to-create-scene-in-mv.48107/
and got it working after commenting out 60 & 61 plus lines 82 through to 92. Though this just creates a frozen blank screen.

What I want to know is the basic set up to placing windows, showing text and enabling navigation(moving cursor,selecting,going back and exiting) within a scene.

The basic of showing images and backgrounds would also be useful.

If you don't know the basics but have found some documentation that would also be helpful!

Cheers

the best way is to search on youtube "how to make a plugin"
there are some usefull one. Another way to learn it or basics is to read other plugins
code and how they set it up.

showing image can easely be evented but also coded. but there are some ways, checking the code and
try to understand it is maybe the best way :)

Ive been looking for this as well, all i want is like a pause to the current map scene (like how the menu takes a snapshot), run a common event(evented menu basically), and at the right command unpause scene.

@Indsh Most of the interactivity, including cursor handling (movement, OK, cancel) is handled by windows on the scene. All default "cursor" windows inherit from Window_Selectable (rpg_windows.js), directly or otherwise. If you have multiple windows in a scene, I think you just have to activate/deactivate them to get the focus to change, e.g.
Code:
this._itemWindow.deactivate();
this._commandWindow.activate();
By contrast, the scene background can be assigned when the scene loads, e.g. in its create routine. :)

I can highly recommend checking out the code behind Scene_Title (rpg_scenes.js) since it's a relatively simple scene: just one window (Window_TitleCommand, cf. rpg_windows.js), custom background & BGM. Helped me a lot when I was making my own plugin (link in case it helps for reference: Cae_ScoreTable). A couple of possible references: Yanfly's Quest Journal System, Himeworks Party Switching Scene. :kaophew:

@bazrat Yanfly's got a Stop Map Movement plugin, not sure if that helps. :kaoslp:

I love that plugin, while it does work for most situations, it doesn't pause galv's map projectiles that are currently on the map(it pauses the events from shooting more, but does not pause existing projectiles). The normal menu scene does pause existing projectiles though, so figuring out a way to pause the scene, keep inputs going with a common event, and then being able to unpause is the challenge, if possible xD

@ShadowDragon thanks for the comment. I am familiar with making plugins and have made a few I'v just managed to go the whole games with out having to make new Scene. Of course if I don't get the info hear I will have to figure it out from other plugins that change Scene :)

@bazrat does sound like were in the same boat!

@caethyril THANK YOU. I will go through everything you have posted and hopefully that will sort me.

@bazrat as far for the evented menu, i created one here, how ever, i still need to figure out the snapshot or other way around to pause everything,
including the projectiles from any plugin. but its really function otherwise :) you can set it up the way you want as well.

If anyone know a little scriptcall for that, i can include it in my menu tutorial, but im still struggling on that scene somehow.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
