Hello,

I don't know if this is the right topic to ask this if it isn't sorry, I didn't find the right one.

I wanted to ask, how can I create sprites and/or tilesets?

Which program do I use? Photoshop? Gimp? or there is a specific one to this?

Any art program might be used - GIMP and Photoshop are two options, but there are others...

Okay, what are the dimensions of the tilesets or character/enemies or monster sprites?

Lunarea has a tutorial series on the RMWeb Blog.

Also look at the help file that comes with the editor (F1) - it goes into detail about the size and placement of tiles.

There are no fixed dimensions - the engine can display sprites at any size (look at the original monster sprite as an example, or compare the RTP with the High-Fantasy-Packs on the shop.
The key is that the sprite-size is determined from the total size of the spritesheet, with $ thrown in as a switch between single-sprite-sheets (with $) and eight-sprite-sheets (without $) - compare the names of the original sprites with the structure of the sprites to see the difference.

For making a single sprite, simply select the spritesize you want to have (basic grid is 32x32), then multiply this size by 3 for X and 4 for Y to get the total dimension of the spritesheet you need. Save that with a $ beginning the filename.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
