Personally i always credit people. Even if they helped me doing a little, meaningless thing, i credit them. Whoever helps me, i put them on credits because is a nice way to reflect your thankfulness. However, i don't see how "Japan" could sue me for violating the terms and conditions. If they haven't do it with ALL that people that pirates the RPG Maker, upload the resources from the store to TORRENTS etc. etc. i don't know how could they do something to me. Anyways, i don't like to break rules, there is no point in doing it~

What I've been doing is everytime I download a sprite or anything, usually from blogs, I will wirte down the anmes of the people and their blogs. If other people are credited in the blogs then I also write their names down too. Would including that list in the credits (If I ever get that far) be sufficient? I don't know about being able to track down every sprite I've gotten and writing down the name of the sprite (or battlers, or tilestes, etc.) and keeping a folder since a lot of that would be too late to do I think, but keeping at the very least the names and blogs is easily doable. The last thing I want to do is shortchange people for their hard work, especially when they offer it freely.

@ Archeia Those link were pretty informative, but they didn't address things like sprites and tilesets that are simply labled "Tileset" or "Character sheet 1".

Oh and by the way, thanks for responding all of you, the responses are helping.

Hmmm, this is an EXCELLENT topic!  I'm glad I got my legal quacks in a row here...

VGs are a verrrry tricky business, omission of simple things CAN and WILL get you into deep trouble! (I've seen it happen, it's not pretty!)

You must credit Enterbrain for the engine used.

Good I want to but also what about the Graphics? Did Enterbrain do.. Ahh I googled it. It's the company name. Thought it was a nickname or something :)

When it comes to the scripts if the script is very similar to another persons script

does credit has to be given?

Nope, let's say though it was heavily modified or you took any code then you would need to. But you could always credit someone and say you were inspired by their work... Unless someone creates something beyond unique and you rip it off I don't think you need to worry too much.

But in the end its always just nicer to give credit :)

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
