I'm thinking of doing a closing credits movie as well as a pdf. Would listing the resources in this fashion work?

CREATED USING RPG MAKER VX ACE

That could work.

I figure that if I've insatlled your art, music, etc.,you get credit whether your resources appear in the game or not. Either way you still get a credit.

That makes sense.

Just be sure to clarify that by saying something like "These resources were used in the development of the game" or something.

I think that solution looks messy and very unprofessional.  A commercial game needs to look like every aspect has been taken care of with the same degree of thoroughness.  Not knowing if you have used an asset or not gives a very poor impression, and that "may or may not have been used" says that you don't actually know or particularly care to find out.  That may not reflect reality, but that is how it is likely to be perceived.

You need to know precisely what you have used, and give credit for it.

EDIT

All sorts of things may have been used in the development of a game e.g. you start by using a script.  Later you find out it is incompatible with something, so you delete it.  You do not credit the writer of that script.  Or you start off using it, and the scripter changes the terms of use after you have begun.  You have to drop the script (this happened to me).  Crediting the scripter looks like you used the script against the new terms, and so all sorts of arguments may ensue.

One thing I like to do in every project is have one blank map dedicated to "Intro Credits", "Outro or Ending Credits", and record of all resources used and people who have assisted the project in any way.

I use the map is a record center, the launching point, and the anchor that closes the circle.  This way, you will have a hard copy in one place, at all times, waiting to be tied into when you are ready to finish.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
