These are uncertain times.

In the ruthless, fragmented society of the Crownlands it has never been easy for someone of low birth to rise above their station. Even now, with the realm recovering from a great war and the alliances between the eight cities more fragile than ever, there is little that a commoner can do to make a mark on this chaotic world.

Except, perhaps, in the arena.

Fighting slaves, and those who own them, have always been the exception. The power of the arena allows even the lowest slave - for a brief moment, at least - to hold all of the ranks of the nobility in the palm of their hand.

This will be your route to wealth and glory. You must guide your team of fighting slaves from the lowest drinking dens to the grandest arenas in the land. You must show the world what a mere lowborn is capable of.

These are uncertain times ... and that favours you.

Demo Features
  • Tournaments: Own a team of fighting slaves, train them and watch them fight in tournaments. This demo features five different arenas. You can win new titles for your fighters as they triumph at the two major city tournaments, and see them fight against wild creatures in special exhibition matches. In the full game you can fight your way through thirteen arenas against dozens of opponents, from the local drinking den all the way to the queen's tournament as your reputation grows.
  • Randomised Fighters: Whenever you get a new fighter for your team, everything from their name and appearance to their backstory and fighting style is randomly pulled from a large database, giving you a new experience every time you play.
  • Role-Playing Story Events: Randomly encounter events in the day-to-day management of your house which will force you to make difficult decisions. As you progress through the tournaments and build your reputation, you can also play through an exciting main storyline full of intrigue.
  • Fighter Morale: Fighters gain morale when you treat them well and through winning victories, which means they will give better performances for the crowd and earn you more money. They lose morale if they are defeated, injured or otherwise demoralised. If their morale gets too low, they might try to escape. Fighters will buy their freedom for five hundred gold after fifty victories in the arena, forcing you to refresh your team and buy new fighters.
  • Merchants and Slavers: Find somewhere to spend your winnings! Buy new equipment for your fighters from the market, build new facilities or buy and sell slaves from the local slaver.
  • Staff: Hire staff for your house, such as a professional trainer, a doctor or a scribe to keep your library and increase your reputation.
  • Build Your House: As your reputation grows and you begin to rub shoulders with the nobility, new rooms and features will be added to your house. In the full game you can even find yourself a good spouse to share in your glory, or build stables to start keeping race horses as an extra source of income.
This game started as an experiment in trying something different with the RPG Maker, mixing elements of a management simulator, an RPG and a visual novel.

The focus is on the management side of things, so you don't control your fighters in combat directly. Aside from building up your house and training and equipping your fighters, your job is mainly to choose the right class and level of fighter to face each enemy and progress through each arena.

You might find the fights get quite easy towards the end of this demo. This is because your fighters will keep developing but you can't progress to the higher level arenas yet.

I would appreciate honest and frank feedback on this project; your first impressions, what you might like to see changed, and whether you think the final version would be worth playing.

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
