So I seem to be having a little problem with the Custom Character Creator EX from SmRndm and I have followed the install instructions to the letter, as well as Rhino's face shape tutorial. I keep getting this tag,
Cannot set property '_needCustomUpgrade' of undefined
whenever I exit the creator. The only plugins I am using are:
SmRndm - SuperToolsEngine
SmRndm - CustomCharacterCreatorEX
I have tried completely removing the plugins and reinstalling them from scratch (all traces of plugins and their folders removed) and I am still getting the same issue.

Here's the console write up:

Did you start a new game after adding the plugins, or did you resume a game you'd previously saved? Saving a game, adding plugins, and resuming the game will cause errors like that fairly frequently.

The error comes from not having an actor in the party, so I think Shaz is on the ball there!

An old save might be noticing any changes you've made to actors. Else, if you are starting from a new game, make sure you've got at least one actor in your party! (In the Database> System> Starting Party.)

It's a new game each time. Funny enough there was an actor in the database>system starting party tab, but it didn't recognize it for some reason...it's working now that I gave the actor name>player. Although, for some reason, the ears of the character aren't showing up, leaving this weird bald patch in between the front and rear hair parts. Either way, at least CCEX is working moderately well now...

@koraiel That's because default CCEX doesn't actually include the ear graphics. You can find those, and some other missing rtp options such as beards and cloaks, on my thread! Download the images from the GDrive, drop them in your ccex images folder and then make sure to update your plugin parameters. There's a recommended layer order on the thread, but don't copy and paste that directly unless you're using all those pieces, you can just use it as a guide for where to place the ear part.

You probably want to make ears a mandatory part, unless you're using a script to load in a basic design first, in which case it doesn't matter. You will have to re-do the script call in order to make it load in with the new ear pieces though.

You might also get that same issue we had when adding the face shapes, where SuperTools didn't recognise any changes. If that happens, follow what we did when editing the CharacterCreator.json. Also copy in the colours e.g. from the body piece so ears will have matching options.

Hope that all makes sense! (And doesn't break anything else ;))

Ah...nah I'm not really using face pictures in the game so no worries, just wondering if there was a way to fix it in case I run into that problem with another project. Thanks for the help in figuring out the issues guys. Happy making!!!

The actor issue was probably because you deleted an actor from the Actors tab to remove them from the starting party, rather than deleting them from the System tab, which is the correct way to do it. Otherwise, you still have an actor, just a 'null' one, which will cause a number of problems.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
