Custom Character is not fully selected

So I had edited a dog sprite for rpg maker mv. When i finished and tried to select it in the game I couldn't select the whole sprite. It's only selecting a fraction of the sprite. ( like maybe two pixels at the most)

Now i edited the sprite through paint. then i created a see through background on pixelr. I do admit that by the time i was finished editing the dog sprite I had some of the sprite cut off. ( or at least it looks like that) it's in the PNG format and i can find it within the game. Its just not selecting one picture of the whole sprite sheet. ( like it does when you make events with other pictures) I've never really edited a character sprite before so if someone knows what i did wrong it would be great to know. Lol

You either do not have a $ at the beginning of the file name (if it's only one character), you did not format it correctly, or both. Hopefully this topic will help you understand a bit better.

Also, avoid using paint to create sprites. Paint.net and Gimp - both free - allow for transparent backgrounds.
