Custom Movement events continue walking while being triggered?

So I'm making your usual NPC with a movement pattern and a piece of dialogue.

When you talk to it, it just keeps on walking (if you're not standing in the way).

What..? o___O

Am I missing something really obvious here?

Never had this issue in XP.

I think if you had it on speed or frequency 5 it would do that - but I believe that was fixed in and RPG Maker MV update

Yeah! It's on Frequency 5.

I have the latest Steam update, but I started my project before RMMV came out so it's possible one of the core JS files is out of date.

Do you happen to remember where you read about this?

Yeah updating RPG Maker MV doesn't update individual projects, you'll have to copy over the new default files into your project.


Unfortunately I don't remember the post I read it in

Copy all the files in your Steam's NewData/js folder into the js folder of your project - except the plugins.js file, which would remove all your plugin settings.

Can't find that update topic, but I just used an online document comparison tool to merge my js files with the "updated" ones and it works, thank you! :)
