Hi All,
I wasn't able to find anywhere online a file that gave me guidelines for creating my own tilesets that were exactly one tile. So I decided to create my own. The below link is to a .psd file that can be opened up in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements and you'll notice a grid when you open it. This grid is a perfect measurement of every one tile that you can create your tilesets on.
This can be used to make A5 tilesets or B-E tilesets. Choose one of the two below.
A5 Tileset (512x256): https://www.dropbox.com/s/j8pdsodl3xitq2h/tileset-resource_a5.psd
B-E Tileset (512x512): https://www.dropbox.com/s/4wy5mve799nxkrc/tileset-resource_b.psd
You can watch my tutorial video on how to use this file here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJYfPIwvvIY
I used the Photoshop rectangle tool to create 16 squares to correspond to the first 16 tiles. For those who know Photoshop, you can use these to create a clipping mask with your tileset to ensure that the final product is exactly one tile.
Also, this tileset resource file comes with two trench tilesets that I created from scratch to showcase how you can line up items that may be more than an exact amount of tiles (use this trench tile ontop of the default grass tile. These are free for you to use in commercial and non-commercial games, as long as you give a shout-out to Invisibledoogey somewhere in your credits.
Hopefully you find this useful. I know I have! I use this psd file for literally every single custom sprite and tileset I create now. And let me know if you'd like this file in any other formats. I should be able to export it to a few others to still work.
