WIth us having  the option to build the game up, although most script developers wouldnt like this idea

it would be nice to be able add our features, ie like i am adding a version to the game to hold strings

based on your switches and numbers(variables) sence you cant store a variable in a string,

it would be nice to add the features to the MV's editor

I'm not sure if that's a possibility but I'm rooting for even the slightest chance of this. I think it's basically the only thing rpg maker needs to transcend mortality and become an eternal god of game creation.

Do you mean, set a variable to hold a string and display it later???

I just did that with the built in functions of

Set Variable

Variable0001

add

Script : "hello"

display message : "\v[1]"

it said Hello in my message window.

Unless that's not what you mean...

Although I do wish that plugins could add ..well plugins to the editor itself. Notetags are nice, but I wish it just added traits/effects you could select from a dropdown. so you wouldnt have to remember all the tags. XD

Unfortunately, there is no way for us to directly change how the editor works. The editor and the JavaScript that runs the game are completely different things. As Blue001 mentioned, you can use a script command in an event to manually set a variable to a string, and then it will hold that string until you change it. Keep in mind that using Control Variable on a variable that holds a string will set the variable back to a number, generally 0.

yes, but that doesnt help when your completely rewriting the js core files from the ground up, means basicly everything i do will have to use script events and tags

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
