Cut-in !

Hello guys ! Happy new year tho ! I have a question :

- I recently discovered that there is a possibilité with Soulpour77's plugin to introduce cut-in scenes during battle.
So I download the plugin and followed one of the topics here editing it. Anyway,
I'd like to know how I can setup this as there is no "default" settings for this. So I'm seeking for help.

For what it's worth, you can just have the battle calling a common event. For example, here is one I have forcing an action (which in turn calls a common event);


This uses a mixture of Yanfly's Action Sequences to show the effects/zoom in, as well as the common events for the dialogue/forcing of actions.

Are you set on using Soulpour77's plugin?

Actually, I'm looking to insert sliding images, not just lines or something like that. Any idea of how to do it ? I don't know if the kind of stuff I look for would be likely to be done with the action sequences from Yanfly. Thanks for your answer, also.

Pretty sure you can, it'll still just call a common event. Is it more similar to this?

If I understand : the skill used in fight must call a common event during the execution of the move that adds a picture to the screen ? Right ?

Yep! For example, here's the code for that event I linked. Bear in mind it happens out of battle, but so long as you erase the image afterwards (and remove the teleport/transfer/scroll map), I don't think it'll be a problem.

The \| and \^ hold the messages for an amount of time, then auto-progress; that way it doesn't go out of sync.

It did not work, I need to explain why : What I use is a cut in, so a band with a close up of the user's face, so on a png. I tried what you gave me, but it teleports you out of battle, what would not suit what I'm looking for. Any idea ?

Ok, quick feedback on your PREVIOUS reply : I had the common event but no picture in, and it acted after the skill casted. Is there a way to make it pop before the animation of the skill and the damages ?

You can do it with YanFly's ActSeqPack - I don't know about with Soulpour77. Yanfly's protocol would be something like the following (put it in the Note of the skill);

<Setup Action>
\\Show the action name
display action
\\Moves character forward
perform start
\\Makes them do the chant gesture
MOTION chant: user
\\Waits 20/60s of a second
WAIT: 20
</Setup Action>
<Target Action>
\\Calls the common event
common event: 6

\\Performs the action animation
animation 65: target
\\Waits 20/60s of a second
WAIT: 20
\\Executes the skill action - aka does damage or whatever
action effect: target
\\Waits 20/60s of a second
WAIT: 20
</Target action>
<Finish Action>
\\Removes action name from the top of the screen
clear battle log
\\Resets actor back to home spot
perform finish
</Finish Action>

It worked ! Last detail : It does the animation twice and the cut in twice, or as much are there are targets.

I'm not too sure why it'd do that; I'm testing it now and the only problem is that it's doing the common event AFTER the animation, which is strange.

Anyone else want to jump in? I'm having issues fixing this on my end.

Found it : I should have put whole instead of target, what would prevent me acting twice.

It turns out that if I set the collider to 0,0,0,0 before despawning an event.... QMovement will actually play nice with Galv Event Spawner! :LZSexcite:
