Introduction


This script allows for "item packs", this is basically an item, that when you 

open it, has a "random" item inside..

 

To create one of these items simply make a normal item, that triggers

a common event.

in the common event simply use the script call to trigger the pack opening.

 

Can also be used in normal events. This could easily be used to create a 

choice based crafting system using events in game.

MMO-styled gift box items?  Oh man...you are awesome.  This is something I was doing via events, but this is FAR better!  Thanks for this!

@ djDarkX - MMO Styled gift oxes is the exact inspiration behind this script. I always liked wasting hours opening little boxes in the hope for that one great item.

Yea its a useful little feature. VERY Time consuming to do this sort of thing using conditional branches in events ( which is how I made my first crafting system ).
I was also thinking of allowing skills to use a random skill...  Would be even more useful if it was based on current states...
EG - confusion state will make u use a random skill...

VERY VERY VERY easy to make it so....

Do you have one in mind ?

you can simply find the line that states "drop_item( item id, amount)" or its equivalent and change it to ItemPack.open_pack:)pack_id)

or you could make it even more random and have it open a random item pack as well ;p

That's what I figured!  Been there, done that and having this is going to be pretty damn awesome.  Thanks again for this script dude.  Nicely done.

How can I make the zero chance go away? I want the item to be opened and give at least 1 item. Currently, I'm getting nothing at times.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
