Damage type splits

I'm working on a project where a character can cast a spell that adds an elemental effect to his weapon attacks. I have completed the setup but i have a question.

How can I tell if the damage is being split between the element, I'l use fire from now on, and the physical attack (i split the physical attack into blunt, pierce, and slash)?

If the user deals piercing damage and adds fire to the attack, does it do 50/50 or 100% of both types?

I'm asking this because I'm finding that monsters that are immune to fire are still taking damage when I do this. I would like the monster to take no damage. I know I could have the spell remove the current damage type from my weapon, but to do that with every spell and weapon would be a LOT of work. If anyone is able to help me understand what is happening here, it would be greatly appreciated.

I think one of the quickest ways to make this happen is to change the Weapon, maybe, after the skill has been used.

Then change it back after the weapon's imbue has worn off?

I'm gonna throw this into the editor and see what I can do, unless someone has a speedier response than me.

As a side note. Why would the enemies who are immune to fire take no damage?

They are still getting hit with the steel from the sword/whatever, so they should rightly still receive damage from that, but not the element.

Simply because this is supposed to be fire damage.

But I thought you said the skill was to enchant the weapon with fire?

If you are using the program's basic commands (Adding "Attack Element: Fire" to the state), will only add it to a "type pool" of sorts.

Example:

Attack A will deal either Fire or Water damage (In the program, it's listed as having dealing Fire in the "Damage Type" box and my character has a state with "Attack Element: Water"). Against Mr. Fire-Immune, the attack will deal Water damage, as that is what will cause the attack to deal the most damage. Against someone with 50% Water resistance and 50% Fire weakness, it will deal Fire damage.

IF you are looking for a true "Element Add" option, try Yanfly's Element Core (http://yanfly.moe/2016/06/10/yep-107-element-core-rpg-maker-mv/). You can adjust what type of synergy multi-element attacks will have, (the default multiplies the resistances, so Mr. Fire-Immune will be immune to your Piercing/Fire attacks. To have a state add the Fire element to all your attacks, create the state and then put ' add element: fire ' to the state's notetag (without the ' '. This notetag has no < > thingies.) Conversely, Yanfky's plug-in also has the ' force element : fire ' notetag which will remove all of the character's attacks' basic element and make them deal pure Fire damage.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
