[Day 4]Avy's Advent Calendar - MZ Stuff

Inbetween studying for exams I made some progress on making the SF RTP pretty. After finishing B, I replaced (and I would say, improved) Inside A2 and made and actual SF_Inside A2.
It is the usual mix of slight recolor, massive edit, past edits I have done and making brand new things where needed.

I could write a whole paragraph on what changed, but the gif shows it all. Not planned, but I ditched some of the tiles that I could never ever see me use on a modern interior map anyways and added some frames that allow us to have a podest stand out better.

Somehow I feel like my results are somewhat XPish looking, huh.

And here is another gif, using both finished sets (B and A2) and giving a preview on A4, A5 and C (which are barely started). But it shows the difference these edits make.
How shall I call this overwork? AveRymake? xD

Very nice and yes, it does remind me of XP. Especially the wooden floors give off that vibe.

Sometimes I forget how new MZ it is and how many things that I consider basic edits that other makers have have not been made yet. I am very glad Wecoc is now doing some of these basic expansions as well, but nonetheless.
We all know, extra animations are cool, and who does not like to have a blacksmith that actually does his job?


I edited the anvil as I wanted it to have a nicer shape and made the sword glow for the hammering process.

Are these commands sent to a captain? A love letter, written by a princess, who is not allowed to meet the peasant she fell in love with? A note for a mother, waiting to hear how her deployed son is doing in war against the dragon?
Whatever it is, you can now open it and find out!
(Animating it has to be done with pages, as it has two columns)

Had my last exam for this semester and I am very busy with my project that I have to hand in at the end of august. I managed to sell my professor the idea that I make something with the Maker, so as soon as the result is online I might show it to you. Since I have to do every single bit from scratch for it, I took a small break and made this edit. I have no clue what people need for their MZ games, so I am just guessing^^

Some time ago I made this skeleton, as MZ really lacks a decent standard skeleton :3
Call me crazy, but looking at my output rate I already considered just saving it up for advent... welp, whatever^^' I guess for those who need it it is better to have it now than then.

Jokes aside, I saw that a Harold Game Jam is going on and while you can technically use MV sprites in MZ, they still clash if they are not reworked. (Interested in a tutorial?)
So, I thought it might help some people to have a ready to use MZ Harold for that. You have to own MV, as this is of course an edit of the default Harold.

This is great stuff! This thread is going to be my go to place for resources! However, I was looking at your “What makes RTP games look bad and alternatives” and saw the thing about the horses. I would use your MV ones, but I don’t own MV. Sideways chests would also be handy.

While most of the SF Actors are "just" edits of the Fantasy Actors of the same number, 3_8 and her modern counterpart share the same hair and eye color.
I feel like this would be the perfect oppurtunity to make her a magical girl, being the SF character as regular modern girl and the other version when she is transformed :3
Or maybe they are the same person from two parallel universes? An ancient hero and her modern incarnation?
No matter what you gonne make her, she can at least now express some emotions!

You cured the status effect that afflicted the horrible black lines on the default stone tile. That tile single handedly raised my stress levels when working with the MZ RTP. Thank you as always Avy!

It's not just for sci-fi - everyone, I don't ever want to see an MZ game using that tile with the lines on it! There's no excuse now!
