Have any of you played the Arma 2 mod DayZ? I have 0 interest in Arma 2, but i'm on the edge about to buy it just to play the mod.

If you are wondering what the mod is, here's a video of someone playing his first day. It's a zombie survival mod, a realistic one.

What are your thoughts of it (If you've played it) ? Is it worth getting? I hear nothing but good things about this mod.

Haven't gotten around to playing it yet (laptop needs upgrading) but I've seen a few videos by Seananners. I am very impressed with this. :)

I play it. I'm on their forums, although I hesitate to mention my username, since I'm kind of a jerk there. ;) (Not really. I just have very *ahem* strong opinions.) If you can guess who I am from that description, though, I'll tell you. (And no, I'm not Rocket.)

You kind of made a useless post there lol. I wanted to know your feelings about the game, not if you're an rear end in a top hat on their forums lol.

Ouch! (I think!) LOL. You're right. Not much content in my previous post. Sorry.

I played it since it came out, and must say that it is (sorry: can be) a game changer in the world of gaming. I played EvE Online a while back, and praised the open world feel of it, and DayZ seems to hold similar options in that regard. You can, if you want to, be the sneaky guy out to get as much as you can and survive, or you can play the jerk, and shoot other players in the head when they're not looking. It does have its repercussions, of course, as there are more than enough zed hordes around to be alerted to your presence, once your gun goes off.

With the newest patch (1.7.1.1, with 1.7.1.2 coming) you spawn without a weapon and very limited supplies, so your first plan of action is to find something! The new zeds are much more resilient, and can see you much simpler, so it's very slow going right now... I think 1.7.1.2 is going to bring them back down a bit, so that they don't just see you and GAME OVER.

Hopefully.

But I mean after like, 2 days of playing, or a week of playing, what drives you to play more? I mean in eve online there was High/Low/Null and most strived to be at the top of either. Or at least, if null, somewhere decent with some decent space. Do you like, find a villa and repair 3 cars and make a garage or something in DayZ? Lol, like what is there for the hoarders out there after they're rich in resources? Can you store them in chests/boxes?

I actually don't do well at the game, and I think that's what keeps me coming back. I like finding 'stuff' and I keep as much of it in my pack as I can. Right now, I found an ALICE pack in a very low-level city, which was awesome, but I'm still carrying the starter Makarov. In DayZ, it's a challenge to survive, and when you do die, you spawn with nothing. Which, in my opinion, is awesome.

Oh, and in EvE - I wasn't "that guy" who was the baddest of Nullsec. I was "the guy" who revolutionized the other side of the game - ninja salvaging. I was Tchell Dahhn, who created Suddenly Ninjas (Corporation) and TEARS/ Tear Extraction and Reclamation Service (Alliance), and who was one of the most loved/hated players in the game for doing so. We used the game mechanics against other corporations to loot EVERYTHING from the ships that they shot down, and we had one of the most warred-against corporations in the game, back in the day. So, there's a huge plus to playing 'not as people expect', which is how I like to play. I actually had an article written about me in the EvE Magazine.

So yeah, I'm kinda big on the internet. /obvioushumour

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
