Dead Hearts on Steam, wishlist it now!

Dead Hearts on Gamejolt, follow it now!

What would you do if all the people you knew were murdered before your eyes?

What would you do if the scenery repeated itself over and over again?

What would you do if you knew you were about to die in front of your friends?

There is only one solution - change your destiny and take revenge.

In Dead Hearts you play the role of Zero, Nekojin living in a village in the mountains. One night the village is invaded by elite knights of the neighboring empire, Araynia. You, your sister and childhood friend, are the only ones to emerge from this event. After a successful escape, you are forced to survive in the wilderness and wander for a long time to a prosperous city to join the gendarmerie and take revenge.

Dead Hearts is an RPG with dynamic action, battles happen in real time with a view from above. Earn levels, items, silver, companions, new skills and better equipment to face increasingly powerful opponents. There are many different quests in the game to move the story forward... or to help a settler from the surrounding village with his problem of rats. The game has several endings, and some romance with some of the characters, as well as the dynamic character of the main character, which changes depending on the choices made or events in the game world.

The continent on which the action takes place was divided into 2 parts: Western and Eastern.

  • The western part is mainly desert, and is mostly inhabited by elves.
  • The eastern part is more diverse, both in nature and in the races living there.
In the west there are nations:

  • Theocracy of Elfrand
  • Dishan Empire
  • Satsuran Kingdom
  • United Commonwealth of Continental Nations
  • Chetiak
In the east there are nations:

  • Principality of Ywjilthar
  • Araynia Empire
  • Chetian Federation
  • Vrignian Monarchy
  • Polonian Republic
  • Abria
  • Wiederescian Republic

In the game world there are four, uncovered, humanoid races:

  • Humans
  • Elves
  • Nekojin
  • Angels

*Final Price may change, and will be revealed with release date.

One thing I'd suggest is listing the intended price with the game details. And once it actually releases let us know and we will move this to commercial game releases (unless it is free that is). You can let us know by reporting your initial post and telling us it is now out.

It might just be my monitor but those screenshots are REALLY dark like...almost invisible. Same for the trailer, I can't make out much at all besides blackness and that it's raining.

Overall this looks pretty good and I like the title and I like the premise but I question where the premise is best served by being set in such a large and kind-of-typical fantasy world with so much worldbuilding going on and so much, well, typical RPG stuff. I kind of feel like the story it seems like you want to tell doesn't seem like it's best served by being played out on such a big (and kind of generic) stage?

also...uh....

Yeah, this might be your monitor's "fault", for me still screenshots and teaser are dark, but you can see some details in this dark. Also game will be this dark only in early events, later on most of events will happen in day I think.

I understand why do you feel like that. I plan to not uncover everything, and tell that directly to player, or lead him by the hand. I would like the player to figure it out himself. Most of the world-building I have, I would like it to be mysterious (at least for most part of the game). Also I'm not gonna fit everything that I want in a single game, so probably if this game takes off there will be another part of Dead Hearts story in another game.

And yeah, I never seen any player to do things like that in RPG so I trough it may be a good idea to put it in my game! haha

AAAGH... I hate navigating the new RPG Maker website!
Forgive my rudimentary video editing skills, thought I'd start sharing progress on my status posts as well. Here's the second character of my roster, Mǽlhafoc, the Ælven ranger.

And if you missed the first one many moons ago, here's Vilhelm, the tarnished knight.
Knocked through three more rough draft sprites. (A frog beast thing, a skeleton, and vampire bat) down to seven sprites and a thing more appropriately done as tiles.
