Hey there everyone, so right now I am making a game and I am using Sapphire Battle System, since it uses a switch for death I am trying to figure out how it would be possible to make it where when you "Die" you have a 70% chance to wake up in a hospital bed and be alright but then of course there is that 30% chance to game over. I don't care if I gotta use a script, as long as it's easy enough and self explanatory and I don't care if I gotta use 10-15 variables/switches. I just want to get this system in and working.

This is the script I am using for the fight system. http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/4918-sapphire-action-system-iv/

This is not a script. It is whole ABS (Action Battle System) :)

Thus there should be an easy way to handle this right?

After all, when you die there is an animation for the character.

And I remember right!

Go to Database, select Common Events tab.

Common Event 1 handles game over.

You can event a conditional branch there.

You create a variable, don't use an existing one, just name an unused one ok? Name it D100 (A dice from 1 to 100)

Now you have to assign a RANDOM value in it.

Find on the first Event Commands page:

Control variables:

Select SET:

Select  RANDOM

first box is 1 the second is 100

Create a conditional branch.

Select

Variable

Select your D100 variable

Select less than 75

Press ok

So this way we rolled the dice.

Now...

On the first situation you event the hospital case.

On the second you event your perma death.

Cheers.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
