RMMV deeper emotional tamagotchi type game?

just got mv and began making this idea like 3 days ago this is what ive got in-game so far

so far its got clickable events, diagonal collision, blinking hud face, functional hud, functional event alert, and a custom made 8px font
the actual size of the game is 160x144 (gameboy style!) this is just fullscreened
ive seen other forums discussing tamagotchi-like games or "pet games" in rpgmaker and how they'd be very difficult and require a TON of switches & variables and considering i am the WORST when it comes to switches & variables is this a hopeless venture into uncharted waters?

and of course just to make things more complicated i also wanted to do something more interesting with it rather than just another pet game as well... not exactly sure how yet but i liked the idea of it being more emotionally grounded than "oh it died bc u didnt take care of it o well time to get a new one" sort of thing

what do you guys think? :0/
does it even sound interesting enough to be worth the trouble?

I'm not sure if RPG Maker is the best engine to build a Tamagotchi because I think you'll have much more work doing this on RM than another engine with a Tamagotchi pack or even following a tutorial.

About a deep emotional Tamagotchi, you may want to have a look at My Child Lebensborn for reference, which is essentially the idea you're describing.

interesting! it seems sad though... if i do make it i don't want it to be sad or like a psychological horror type of game just something that realistically displays emotions... i'm not that invested in the idea considering i just started making it so i might just scrap it if i can't make it in rpgm...

FWIW, I think you could totally make it happen in RPGM! Even if it's not the "best" engine to make a certain type of game, that doesn't mean it's not doable, it just might mean it's a little bit more of a labor of love. I like the idea and the prototype so far. I think it probably will rely a lot on switches and variables, but that's not a bad thing. I believe in you!

Edit: Did not see that this thread was from four months ago, whoops! I hope you're still working on it; it's a neat concept.

oh hey yeah thanks! i wasnt really planning on taking it very far if i had to work insanely hard for it as it was just a passing idea someone could totally do something like this i just doubt its going to be me at this point
as soon as the clickable events werent functioning properly i just dropped this project off the side of the earth lol
maybe ill feel like picking it back up someday who knows :0)

Happy Friday, y'all! I just got home from work and am sitting down with a nice cider, and I'm ready to chill and enjoy myself. Not sure if I'm gonna dive into any of my game-related projects or not tonight.... we'll see how I feel after unwinding for a bit I guess!
Just found out that mint tea made from chocolate mint tastes a bit like hot cocoa with candy cane stirred in. As I'm allergic to chocolate this makes me very happy.
It's special day for me tomorrow so time to vanish for 24 hours lol.
So Deltarune Chapter 2 is supposed to release today... if it's out already, has anyone played it? And I can't because I have a stinking Mac and not a Windows PC.
