(If this thread doesn't belong here, I do apologize)
So, given that I'm new to RPG Maker but have been an avid gamer for twenty-two years, I wanted to jump into the program and implement a myriad of ideas I had. However, after careful consideration I have decided to create a project lesser than that of what I consider to be my future 'dream' project. And to take it a step further, I'm only using the assets that are default within the program itself. Now, you may say "Nobody will want to play it because we're all used to the default assets and they won't bring about much in the way of innovation." and to that I say, I don't intend on this game revolutionizing much in the way of either game development of the RPG Maker community.
However, there's no reason as to why it can't at least affect the community in a positive way. I'm issuing a challenge to anyone that wishes to participate. I'm not treating this as a competition, more-so as a means of inspiration. The rules are simple: You can only use assets within the default program. Nothing custom can be downloaded into it. However, if you have programming knowledge, that can be applied. Considering I've never actually made a game of my own, I'm not sure of a proper deadline to set for this, so perhaps some discussion with veteran developers can assist in that department. Maybe we can have two deadlines, one for a demo, and the other for the complete version.
Anyway, this is an idea I had off the top of my head. I have a history of leaving things unfinished, so I figured this may act as a bit of encouragement. I suppose I could update the first post of this thread to organize those that are participating. So, let's get discussing!
