RMMZ Dekita's Particle Lantern plugin

A while back I saw some footage of Dekita's lighting system plugin, which showcased some impressive ray-casting effects (not sure if that one ever got finished) and a Pokemon-style particle lantern effect:

I wanted to try it out so I subscribed to his Patr3on, downloaded all the plugins and demo projects, and followed the instructions -- and the demo projects absolutely do not work. I tried several methods of contacting him, but it looks like he actually hasn't posted anything new, anywhere at all, for the past year now. His last post mentioned something about several family members going to the ICU due to 'rona issues, and most of them didn't return... Which has me wondering if something may have happened to the man himself. :'-{

I'm tempted to assume that even though there's something wrong with the demo projects, the individual plugins themselves might still work, but the one I just mentioned comes with very little info in the Help file part... It seems to rely entirely on Script Calls, and I know absolutely nothing about those. And so my obvious question is:

Does anyone have experience using this thing, and a moment to help me out? If I could just figure out how to get a usable effect similar to the one in the video, and know how to turn it on and off, that would be much appreciated... Or perhaps someone knows of an alternative plugin that I could turn to for a similar effect?

While not this plugin in particular, there is Shora Lighting System.
It has the same mechanics of bending around corners, and much more. You 'should' be able to get the same effect by messing around with some parameters.

After a ton of fiddling, I actually just now figured out how to get Dekita's plugin working -- demo project was referencing a few RTP assets that were over-written by his folders when following his included instructions, so I had to manually replace those, and then I started messing around with the plugin itself and realized that for some reason the effect will only show after the map gets reloaded -- by, say, a transfer or returning from something such as an options menu.

I still think I'll try out the one you mentioned though -- Dekita's only does the particle lighting, and does it really well, but I see no way to do the bending / ray-casting thing... I guess that was another plugin he had planned, but never released to the public. His disappearance is also problematic because I think his terms for acquiring a commercial license require you to be a supporter for a period of time, and if he's not looking after his site then there would be no way of knowing when or if that's happened. Hope he's alright...
