I was using a sample map as a reference for making another map, and when I tried to delete it, the program crashes and gives that generic "RPG Maker MV has stopped working" error. Deleting other maps works fine though, so it's only that one in particular for some reason.

The sample map that I can't delete is called "School".

Can you still not delete it?

A few others have had this problem. I suggest you make a backup of your MapInfos.json file in the data folder, edit the original, and remove that map from the list (I think the appropriate method is to just change it to null). Then rename the map itself. This way you've still got both of them in case it doesn't work.

Not really sure what is the cause of this.

    Yes.

Which part do I change? I found this in the .json file.

    {"id":17,"expanded":true,"name":"School","order":19,"parentId":0,"scrollX":1025.3333333333333,"scrollY":584.6666666666666},

Would I just delete this entire thing?

If you made a backup of the original MapInfos.json you can reload your game with it it in case your new edited file doesn't want to load.

You should be able to just replace that line with null, (don't forget the comma)
