Synopsis

You play as Pingu, a clay penguin that has some weird abilities at his disposal. Right from the start of the game you can go wherever you please, at least that is the goal, making the player feel free and do what he wants to do first, while unlocking some features and areas as you progress in the main storyline.

Pingu finds some weird sh** along the way, enemies, allies, and more to discover in this weird world he is in.

As the story progresses, Pingu goes through hell to save himself and those he cares for. Will he make it? Or will your decisions make it worse?

Features

As mentioned above, I want the game to feel like you are free to go where you want, like Grand Theft Auto of course, with places to go to and different activities to earn money to become rich and do what you please. Right now, the demo has features such as

  • A battle arena where you can fight hordes of enemies to earn money and experience, plus you can upgrade many stuff such as attack, defense and has 3 different modes right now
  • A casino where you can wager your money in 3 different games such as a dice rolling game, rock paper scissors and a new one, mystery chest opening, which can contain rare items and weapons (such as a Golden gun) not found anywhere else, also a nasty surprise you might not want to find
  • Police chases on foot when you commit crimes such as killing npcs, happens randomly, however if you pull out your gun and shoot at someone with it, they will chase you, 100%
  • A cheat code system that has some hidden cheats and one hidden event code that will be given to you at the end of the demo missions
  • 1 Side mission, 3 Main story missions
  • NPC recruiting! With random stats and names (if they die, they are gone forever, if they leave the party you can recruit them again near your safehouse)
  • Timed-attacks action command turn combat, making the game not easy for everyone, rewarding for those who time it well, punishing for those who don't
  • Custom graphics that are animated during cutscenes and certain moments (I made plenty animations for different graphics, which means you won't see 2 static sprites talking to each other most of the time)
  • Crazy missions and eventing, no really, I took the time to make them as unexpected as possible and refreshing from your average RPG maker game
  • Many known videogame and anime songs
  • Crazy and funny? sound effects
  • Custom animations for all items and skills, when you miss and when you hit!
  • Pixel Movement and Jumping
  • Zooming in and out feature, also used in cutscenes to make them look better
  • NPCs all say something different, you can talk to them multiple times and will say something different, you can also make them mad, fight them, and some have small requests

I think I went a little too deep with the features and maybe I missed a few more, as you can tell this is quite a big project.

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
