played it again, as promised. did write some things down while playing


2nd Run:

Finally found a way to open the door in the ratcave. Wasn't very rewarding :(
Hand Ax -> Hand Axe (hand axe is pretty underpowered compared to the sword)
Save Crystals make the game more challenging, sometimes they are just frustrating...but just because i was stupid: died after the farm, didn't save in town. Have to start in the ratcave again. damn
bought the bow, but I cannot use it. damn (I get it, warrior class. But that might be confusing for newbies)
I am pretty sure I don't receive any money for hunting the rabbits, even though I should get 50!
What do I do if I want to save the Focus attack for the next fight...I cannot choose a normal attack after the FA is fully loaded
Dead fighters gaining no exp after a fight is still very unpleasant
I am a Level 5 warrior right now with ~300 hp! Fletch has 600~ hp as a ranger...and greyback even has almost 500!
Where is my Firesword+4? (no but seriously, some better loot would be good, maybe I am just constantly  missing it, but I didn't find anything except the short sword which you can also buy in town right away)
no problems with antidotes this time, in fact they drop a bit too often...having 6 right now. But I am not complaining :D
Bought fire stash for 750 Gold! Tried it on the first enemy...does not work well on these basdin soldiers. Should have gone for lightning... DAMN
Discovered that Fletch actually has a healing spell. Didn't know that before, saves me a lot of trouble from now on
The loot quest right after the prison cells?! No idea. Offensive magic and defensive magic!? should i use these on the switches? If so, how? I want my firesword+4!
too many encounters during short riddles like the switch quest or the loot quest. same music over and over and over :(
very good idea with mapping the caves this way, I like that a lot, adds variety to the game!
HA, nice...I just added that puzzle to my game, too. Took me forever to get it done but finally got the dragon! Tablet piece #1 instead of firesword+4 :(
what can i do to counter ironbody? just wait!?
defeated lance, good fight. finally a new sword and armor! YES!!!
slowly getting immune to the ever repeating battle music...just kidding, it is really getting annoying

Had to run all the way back, through the orc mountains, the forest...all random encounters again with "fantastic" music. DAMN


My new armor is like the iron man suit. getting 1 Damage from almost all attacks feels good :D
missed the 3rd orc! I got sick of looking for him because random encounters everywhere. can't get the music out of my head, better keep running home fast!
(renamed gizmo to lisa. She still tells grandpa that she is gizmo)
Talked to the mayor...or better wanted to talk: "It is more complicated than we thought"...after this the game is stuck. I think an event doesn't trigger!? Or is this the end?


+ Caves


+ Lance and the escape event right after that. Extremely well done!


+- nice to get the opportunity to learn new skills, but for 750 i expected more...


+- took me forever to get the dragon puzzle done, i thought I would get a bit more as a reward


- Battle music gets annoying. I mean really annoying. I wanted to do the orc quest, but it was too annoying to get new encounters every 20 steps with that same music over and over and over again. This really became an issue and made me rush through the game in the end

Awesome would be great to get more feedback!


I am currently working on the next version of the demo. Here is what to expect (mostly fixes so don't worry if you're playing the old version there is no need to wait for this new one!)


Version 2.1.2


Fixes:
- Fixed Player glitch which would "flash" the player graphic still in bed and in the center of the room at start of the game after in-putting name.
- Fixed Text display issues in the Barrels and Urns Tutorial.
- Fixed some spelling mistakes
- Fixed Tatty cloak not being able to be equipped.
- Fixed giant spider sprite clipping glitch.
- Fixed dialogue display issues in opening cutscene
- Fixed Vendale Inn issue where you couldn't rent a room.


Tweaks:


-Increased size of players house to fit new wall standards.
- Adjusted events to match new map size.
-adjusted class stats for more balance.
- Changed "tatty cloak" to "old cloak"
- Spider boss dialogue tweaked
- Tweaked some music for certain events
- Tweaked Farm fire events to have better animations.
- Added more clutter to Vendale and Vendale forest.
- Opening Cut scene tweaked.


Additions:


- Added Sound effect when picking up the Game control book
- New player tips book added to player house.
- New chest containing potion added to player house.
- Added more clutter and detail to player house.
- Old cloak now available to buy at store
- Added Spider blade to forest

Actually I've been swamped by many things recently and couldn't find proper time to playtest your demo again, one, and two..I'm sort of not motivated enough to playtest it since there's nothing major in changes in the latest version. But I'll be still keeping an eye on this project of yours. =) Sorry again >_<"

I thought I would give this a quick go, just to get the feel of it.

1) I could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain that although the dialogue said that I was getting 50g from the guy I give grandpa's potion (fox something or another), my money did not increase.


2) It seems not to be possible to trigger the Innkeeper event.  Every time I said in front of her I get the mini tutorial and when I face her and use action nothing happens.

Yeah I have and I gotta say that I would've preferred the busts in the conversation events than just facesets :D


Although other than that, I found the story kind of immersive, as it kind of sunk on me a little too deep lol

I looked into busts in conversations but with so many minor characters and conversations it just wouldn't work. I would have to get a lot of busts made for those minimal conversations :(


I am working on a small update though that fixes some bugs and balancing problems so I hope you and anyone else who has played older demos comes back ^_^

Some changes coming the new version:

As well as some text fixes and bug fixes you can expect further tweaking of stats, balancing of items.

Some big changes include: Lance battle redone. I am been messing with events in battles and now the battle with Lance will offer a more unique experience. I've re-vamped a lot of dialogue so it flows better and added more depth. A new world map system has also been implemented. On top of this I have re-done some maps and added in a few more.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
