Untitled DBZ Game

SYNOPSIS
Take control of Goku and the other Z-Fighters to save the universe again and again as you face off against all of the shows major villains!
Picking up five years after the end of Dragonball, with Goku now a young adult and father to his son, Gohan. An alien named Raditz arrives on Earth in a spacecraft and tracks down Goku, revealing to him that he is his long-lost older brother and that they are members of a near-extinct extraterrestrial warrior race called the Saiyans. The Saiyans had sent Goku to Earth as an infant to conquer the planet for them, but he suffered a Brain Injury soon after his arrival and lost all memory of his mission, as well as his bloodthirsty Saiyan nature. Goku refuses to help Raditz continue the mission, which results in Raditz kidnapping Gohan. Goku decides to team up with his former enemy Piccolo in order to defeat Raditz and save his son!

Yet ANOTHER random DBZ Fan Game? PASS!
I know, I know. There has to be hundreds of fan-made DBZ games. What sets mine apart?
Well, as an avid lover of RPGs and DBZ, I've always wanted to make a game like this. I was incredibly disappointed with DBZ: Kakarot from an RPG standpoint and it finally pushed me to make my own DBZ RPG.

In my game you can find several things that make it stand out from other DBZ Fan Games, or other RPG Maker games in general.
  • Custom graphics meant to give a unique look to while maintaining the classic DBZ art style
  • A fully animated battle system
  • Animations for the characters during 'cut-scenes' to help make the game more enjoyable
  • Custom edited music and sound effects directly from the the show! (Specifically the Faulconer OST)
  • Locations from the show that encourage exploration
  • Much, much more!
I have spent countless hours carefully crafting the DBZ World for others to enjoy. In fact, I'd say in just the demo, atleast 95% of the dialogue is directly from the FUNimation Faulconer Dub that I rewatched over and over to get the dialogue right while cutting out any of the filler/unnecessary dialogue so you don't get bored quickly.

SCREENSHOTS

DOWNLOAD / KNOWN ISSUES
  • The map markers 'Kamis Lookout' and 'Training island' both lead to West City. This is because the maps are not finished for them.
  • The music might be a bit loud. You can adjust it in settings.
  • You can save at anytime right now since this is EA, but in the final game you won't.
  • West City is fully explorable, interiors included, but there are no NPCs in the city except for the Store Owner where you can buy items and gear.
  • If you speak to Raditz from the right or left, his graphic disappears for a little bit until the next scene transition.
  • Pressing 'Professions' in the Menu crashes the game. (This was a leftover from an earlier idea)
  • Music switches at the beginning of battle (Because of certain scripts I am testing)

This isn't to bad for working on that old vx ace or whatever. How far have you made it so far? Vegeta, Frieza?

Where does the demo end bro!? XD Yeah, the die hard fanboys like me will always play these bad boys if you do them right. Just look at Omega Magnus and his DBZ LOZ, that's some good **** right there. I just wish that people would start from DB and finish at GT and include super. A super complete DB RPG would be fire.

These screenshots take me back to the old SNES days and that RPG with cards and stuff. Oh boy. It's been a long time since I have played something DBZ related, I'll surely try this one. Looks very cool!

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
