Who are we to judge the face of evil? Those who create the rules are not necessarily noble and altruistic but are the entities that hold the power to do so. Manipulating the many to benefit the few or in many cases the new. Dominating what ever they need to obtain more power and control is the way of the world. Uncovering these truths and obliterating this endless cycle of deceit and evil can come from just a single source, our hearts. Can we break away from its shackles of dividends that have been conquered? Could we save ourselves from oblivion before the angles come?

Description
Demon’s Revenge is an RPG set in a Sci-Fi fantasy world. You begin your journey on the planet Hasphal where prejudice seems to have torn the world apart since the beginning of time. Humans have proclaimed jehts, the native beings of Hasphal, disfigured, dangerous and unworthy of living on the same planet. They believed them to be monstrous creatures from Remerin (A hellish place). They decreed them to be demons and hunted them down in honor of their Gods. Join Sen as she finds herself thrust into the middle of conflict, discovering the mysteries about herself and the true history of Hasphal and its inhabitants. Everything is not what it appears to be as religion and life itself unfolds in this exciting adventure. Fight epic battles, turn based, fully animated system with environmental interaction. Explore our world and discover secret areas and puzzles. Experience the motion comic cut scenes that set the pace for this epic adventure.

Characters
Sen
sen%20eyes.png

With every last fiber of her body, Sen only knows survival. Her life is vague. Plagued by dreams of horror and frustration of what she believes them to be. Having betrayed the only family she has known by killing her brother, she seeks no truths and accepts the inevitability that she will always be hunted as a Demon.

Sen lives at the edge of a forgotten and abandoned forest where she has survived for years on her own. Using her apparent demonic ability to control moisture in the air she was able to survive. Becoming a hardened survivor and living off the land alone, in what has become penance for the crime she has commit.

Life in Origin Forest is no place for a human. Wolves overpopulate the area, and because of that food is scarce. Sen has survived eating any herbs and fungus that she finds with the occasional hunt or stranded animal that comes across her way. Her strongest asset is her instincts, as her formal education was cut short by the murder of her brother. Sen has become brutal and strong in this harsh environment fighting for her life every day.

Jagen
jagen%20eyes.png

Born with nobility Jagen has been bred with the finest teachings and training. Jagen’s family and culture has pressured him to hate what he does not understand, jehts. Jagen could not protect his wife against them. He found his wife brutally murdered by jehts. Stricken with grief, unable to slay the “demon” that did this to her, he puts up arms. Not in revenge for his wife but to defend anyone these creatures would come to harm. So he joins the ridders, Hasphal’s elite defenders, to protect the ones who need protecting.
But everything is not what it seems and Jagen’s morals tend to clash with the ideals of the ridders.

Jagen was raised by wealthy owners of an inn located in the town of Pekitzer. He lived a very privileged life and was exposed to some of the finer teachings in all of Hasphal. Jagen’s parents were so busy with the family business that they rarely had time for him. Because of that, Jagen indulged himself in education, religion and training. He grew to embrace the intricacies of strategy and war, and grew a passion for some of the more obscure and unpredictable weapons and fighting styles. Jagen became one of the most formidable tournament fighters in Pekitzer and was eventually recruited by the ridders. He declined initially, but years later volunteered after tragedy struck his life.

Disclaimer
This is an updated and improved version of our project that is currently on Steam. The Steam version, which was made with the RMVX Ace engine, is going to be replaced with the updated RMMV version with new content upon release. The current Steam version is subject to possible purchase suspension as we do not want to cause confusion among the different versions of the game. Those who already possess the current version will receive the updated version upon release. The game will still contain the current portal with added achievements, Steam trading cards, and any episode 1 content that we release with this update.

We did not feel that we delivered on our first attempt on this project. Although we received some positive feedback, we felt that our efforts could have been a lot better. We did not accomplish some of the milestones we wanted to; therefore we went back, added the missing content, and increased the quality of the things we thought fell short. It has taken us a bit of time to get back to where we could feel confident to talk about our project again and we look forward to showing more!

Pretty impressive, if it wasn't posted here I wouldn't have guessed it was made on RM.

The graphics remind me of the Medieval resources from the store. I once planned to make a game like that one..

I like the items shown.

Thanks guys our goal was to make an original game with a unique focus on combat and an alternative perspective on the role playing genre. The engine is like any other, making a game unique is completely up to the developer.

Some of you may have noticed that the purchase option for Demon’s Revenge on Steam is currently suspended. We are in the process of preparing a release for the updated version of the game and its subsequent expansions. This decision has been made primarily by our team as we felt there was too many issues for that version and that we wanted a bit of a fresh start with our updated game.

As we have been developing and building the game, over time the characters have change. We have fleshed out motivations and story elements to make your journey more rewarding. None is more apparent than Sen’s journey and we would like to think that we are building something great, despite the amount of time we are taking. We are aiming to give gamers a full experience and hope that these characters, locations and even music sticks with you.

The sound track for episode 1 is currently missing one track. Although we have more music for the other episodes produced already, we want to release these when the games are complete. We may release the episode 1 soundtrack when the final track is done, but our main focus is on the game itself. We have been through a few musicians to get this done and we hope that this appeals to fans of the game. We think the soundtrack is great and hope you will too!

Thanks again for your patience.

We have made a few tweaks to how the difficulty and AI have been operating in Demon’s Revenge. One of the things we have taken out of the game is enemy levels. In the past, the game would usually adjust to the way you would be playing in order to relinquish the need to grind and compile experience. That did not work out and in some cases that would ultimately work against the player. We felt it provided a challenge and gave the player a reason to go into battles. In the end it ended up making the game more challenging than it should have been. The gains you would achieve in level would feel minimal as the enemies would always seem to catch up with you.

So instead we are going with a more retro feel, adding in gameplay mechanics that will provide a unique experience with each enemy you encounter. It will feel a bit more like Pokemon, as the enemies will be noted for doing “something.” Here are a few examples of what we are talking about.

Long Tusk Boar:

The long tusk boar will be a very aggressive creature. It will try to attack anything; that includes your party and any object in its way. If it gets frustrated, it may increase its attack power while becoming increasingly more aggressive. They operate best in groups as they tend to attack simultaneously with one another.

Worker Bee:

The last thing you want to do with worker bees is to be passive. If you get into battle with a worker bee and try to hide, they will immediately send out smaller swarms to find and attack you. Worker bees are fast and possess a venomous stinger. Although they are very fragile, they are also hard to hit. You’ll want to use accurate and quick attacks as their stings can leave your party members in a critical state.

EPIC/Fabled – Hornet Queen:

The Hornet Queen is a fabled enemy that resides in Origin forest. Because this creature is hidden, we do not want to say too much about it. It should be a surprise. Some may have fought this creature in earlier versions of the game, but a lot has changed since then. These enemies, unlike the previous versions, will be beatable in the first episode. They are made to open up the lore and the world of what we are trying to build with Demon’s Revenge.

Thanks for taking the time to read our update. We hope to bring more news soon!

Too bad the Boss Battle Build Bout isn't also for VXAce.
I might not participate in the Boss Battle contest after all... I have more important things to do, like Wishful Wanda. And of course the Dark Deception spinoff I plan to pitch, Demon Slayer.
