Hello all,

Unfortunately, I've been struggling with the problem that several diagonal movement plugins cause regular FPS drops and image stuttering. The problem occurs primarily when the character moves diagonally. However, I have not been able to see any real pattern so far. I've been trying to get a handle on the problem for about 5 hours. So far without success.

Video as an example using Galv's Diagonal Movement Plugin:

I have already tried the following plugins for a Diagonal Movement:

- Galv's Diagonal Movement (Primarily more dips when using mouse control, less when using keyboard).
- Visu Stella Events and Movement Core (massive drops, reduction of FPS by about 50-60%)

I have already taken the following steps:

- Disabled other plugins step by step
- Updated plugins and RPG Maker version
- Script Call to limit the mouse click rate
- Script Call to disable/enable Galv's Diagonal Movement Plugin (e.g. Diagonal Movement is only available for 20 frames, then 60 frames disabled)

If anyone has any ideas on how I can get a handle on this problem I would be very grateful!

Hey apologies if you've already done this (I'm assuming when you say you updated MV you mean only to the latest official version), but you can get a huge performance improvement by updating nw.js and the pixi library used by MV.
There's a thread on how to do so for all major operating systems: https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/inde...dramatically-improve-game-performance.131620/
The OP is a little dated but it's instructions still work for mac and windows to update to the latest version of NW.js which should be 74 at the movement.

I love it when the approval queue is 80% spammers. Makes it so fast to power through!
I found some inspiration and have started work on a Point and Click style exploration game in a dead mall. I am hopefully going to push MZ in some unexpected directions. I always love seeing the engine do things that folks might not expect. Its good to have found some direction. Thanks for the support a few weeks back when the writers blog was hitting heavy.
Don't you want your heroes or monsters to lose some of their MAXHP or MAXMP? Don't you?
Really, why wouldn't you? :p
Yeah, it's gonna get worse after every hit they take, but so what?
Aren't they courageous fighters? Or stupidly brute mobsters?
